Wonderful speakers. Sounds like a hot ("stolen") item to me though.

Or broken.

When my buddy's band mixes and does recordings they use those speakers.

That's an old scam that's been running in the suoth east for a long time.

I had friends who were doin it in fact i am listening to some of them right now.

My friends were floggin Vector Research around Atlanta 10 years ago.

It's just avg. gear nothing special, not really all what they big em up to be but they should be alright like i say i still use mine. New product to keep it fresh but still the same game. It is funny the sales pitch is still the same i had to laugh, you aren't in Atlanta are ya :chin:

I was livin in Miami mid 80's and i bought some the same way same pitch. We did manage to fry them after a rather Radical afternoon though, they actually smoked and they were meant to be liquid cooled an all that :chin:

Honestly we were tryin to fry them don't know why just one of those daze :joint: :woohoo: :joint:

Hope you got a good deal anyway, i got my Vectors for a bag of weed :canabis:

Peace

I can tell you from experience...they are not hot. This is a company that buys these speakers by the thousands and keeps them in warehouses. They buy a bunch of vehicles...(white vans, suv's, anything big enought to hold lots of speakers) and they hire kids to sell them on the street. I know that for every system sold they have to turn in a certain amount of money, anything over that is money in their pocket.

Here is the deal with those guys...they make money two ways, they make all the money over what they have to turn in per set of speakers (which is never more than $300), and they also make money via bonuses and such. The owners or financiers of this business make loads of money per set sold, so they offer incentives for sales per day, sales per week, etc... The trick is to catch one of these guys Friday afternoon. They are desperate to offload units to hit sales goals. If you find the right crew at the right time...you can get them to go below what they have to turn in. If that set were to get them the bonus...To them it would be a minor loss for a major gain.

well doesnt matter though, really if it came out of a pinto
is the product good?
so far from what I have read no complaints and people still jamming, didnt know if the compents were comparable to like big name brand stuff. some generic stuff is good and comparable.

on that site the k3 system is what these jokers were peddling on the gulf coast and yeah i read that thread website people all p[issed feeling like they got scammed which they probley did if they paid mor than 250 for the system maybe not..

Those speakers are what I like to call "Low-Fi". Yes, they will play music just fine. But sound good? Not to a discerning ear.

It's kind of like comparing a one man band to a full symphony orchestra. Yes, they both can play Brahms, but only one can do it correctly. ;)

there was a piece done on this scam on dateline a while back, one of the things they try to say is that the speakers are heavy because of the large driver magnet. the fact is they were very nice looking speaker cabinets, usually devoid of cones and magnets the items that make a speaker work. what was found inside were a couple of paver bricks. when confronted down the road the white van high tailed it away. always remember when it comes to something being too good to be true it usually is.

THEY ARE CMEMORY KNOCK OFFS! This is how the scam works: Guys in a van pull you over and say they are over stocked on name brand speakers. But they are cheap knock offs! Kirsch is a knock off of Klipsh and Acoustic is a knock off of Coustic. SCAM FOR SURE! My homie did this one. And soon moved to selling perfume knock offs. Same company.

I've had that happen quite a few times, usually the guys say it's overstock and try to work a deal. Only one time have I seen quality speakers, they were name brand and either were stolen or overstock. My buddy got a great deal on them.
