Sawdust as mulch?

I've seen it in old hay bales.

I have raised garden beds and filled the bottom with logs (Hügelkultur). But the top is filled with supersoil.

Had to look that up. Intersting prospect & technique. OTOH it would have been germane to the convo here, to relate your experience on this cultivation technique. Dontcha think?
