hello! I was just wondering if anyone in the area of san fran knows of any sights I should for sure see? I will be in town the 9-12 of Feb for the auto convention and ive never been to the area so I wanna make sure I see whats important. thanks, cb

height st., china town, north beach, gg bridge, downtown, union square, the tourist stuff can be done in 2 days easy.
i would spend some time in the mission and eat some excelent mexican food. go el castillo on 24th and mission. the bomb

If you're into counter culture trivia history, you could go chill in the Golden Gate Park (where the Human Be-In festival were held at the Polo Grounds in -67, and a 100 000 hippies gathered for the "summer of love"), or cruise the streets of Haight-Ashbury (710 Ashbury: the Grateful Dead house, 112 Lyon: Janis Joplin's apartment, 1524A Haight: Jimi Hendrix' apartment, 616 Page Street: Charles Manson's crib!).

there's a bike trail runs along the waterfront along the presidio and up to the golden gate bridge... specifically where the trail cuts immediately under the golden gate bridge (the bridge is right above your head) it makes a few switchbacks to climb to street level: at this point if you hop the fence (you can figure out the place by getting a peek of the incredible view through the bushes) you'll find yourself on a slope above the ocean with an incredible view (and no tourists/locals around)

plus, golden gate park is probably one of the easiest places in the country to pick up weed in less than 60 seconds... quality is variable but with all the nice hippies around you're not going to get screwed. they actually have drum circles and shirtless guys on acid riding their bikes around. in fact, i was eating at a mcdonald's across the street from the park and was offered a dubsack by a homeless guy AT THE OUTDOOR DINING AREA

hey i dont know if anyone will read this as this thread has gone kinda inactive. but what is the chance of running into good stuff while im out there? like headband, bullrider, og kush, or chemdawg? Im dying to try them. just wondering if most of the street stuff i would be able to find is gonna be good or not?

hey cb! you'll have a great time as long as the weather doesnt stay as shitty as it is now..

you should hit up all the tourist spots, in particular north beach (wonderful italian neighborhood with great bars and restaurants), coit tower which offers a stunning view of the city, the golden gate bridge, check out baker's beach which is beautiful and offers a great view of the coast/ gg bridge...the haight ashbury is a cool neighborhood to chill in. also check out china town and union square.
to find some good restaurants just go on yelp.com and search for the most popular restaurants in SF. thats a great way of finding moderately priced and excellent food.

anyways, as far as scoring weed. someone else mentioned golden gate park. there is one specific part called hippy hill where there are always tons of stoners and hippies chilling out and smoking. to get there, go to haight street and follow it west until it ends in golden gate park. from there, walk into the park, under a bridge, and keep following the path until you see hella people standing around. once there you'll find a ton of people selling weed. Theres alot of bammer weak shit there, but if you dont settle for the first person who has weed and use your nose to find the best shit, you can probably score some dank ass kush strains. otherwise, you need to have a medical card or the right hook up for the dankity.
