Sam_Skunkman's dry sift method

still waiting after 6 years? lol

Or I can just tell everyone how to do it?

I've been making this since 2004, just as good if not better than Sam. One shot, no RE-SIFTING.

For the amateurs in the house, which is likely all of you from the looks of it - use a little common sense people.

Everytime you re-sift, you break down any fragments or heavy particulates that may still be present. I don't care how 'soft' you think you are doing it, you are not going to prevent breaking up microscopic dry/frozen pieces of fragmented stalks or green matter. You're off and confused.

I don't re-sift over a finer screen, as there is no need. One drop, one shot, 99% FMCD everytime. There is a trick to it, and THAT is why Sam WILL NOT tell you guys.

He hasn't automated or patented it yet because it's pretty much impossible given the fact that trich's can be smaller or larger depending on strain, and the other fact that using an automated machine will not give you the touch and care you need to get 99% FMCD.

I have never seen anyone else in almost 8 years of making this doing what i'm doing, and I know for a fact Sam isn't either, as he also has to re-screen, which is honestly, lol... pretty damn sad.

Everytime you re-sift you break up more, period, end of story.

It's not rocket science.

So...what's the trick? or it just can't be told?

such as.........?

I've dropped hints left and right. People are too busy hating to realize it.

But hey, lol.

Ignore what i'm saying. Be my guest. Not here to start anything. You guys think Sam is some end-all mad scientist.

I was sXe til I was 23, and figured this out in less than 2 years of doing my first room. I've now been making this for almost 8 years.

Just as good as Sam, under a scope. The club in San Francisco we're working with will be known soon.

Why? Because it's going to explode on the scene like crazy. We've been holding this back waiting for the time the medical scene caught up to the point where people understood the true value and what we really have.

Five years ago if you were talking terpenoids and flavinoids to people, they were gonna laugh at you. They still do.

To the small percentage of people who now fully understand the value and such of it, it will be worth it. There are some now who DO get it.

And we fully intend to run with it. Sam claims he can only get 1% return. I can get closer to 5 or 6%. Same quality. Why? Not sure. Secret, right?

He has held onto his for how long? 20+ years? Well, it's been close to 8 for us. We're not just going to give it up, either.

If this guy really is the only other one who is capable of this, then, hey - awesome. Our secret is safe, and neither of us have to worry about somebody else stealing it and running with it.

The club will be offering it to patients, but they will still not know how it's done. That's ours until we're ready to part with it.

yawn these things are cyclic folks, every so often some guy come on and spews a lot of words hyping his hash making method to be as good as Sams. and they all say how it's gonna burst on the scene any day now, then everyone will see. always the same template it seems. do you have a patent for this method by the way? that would be the next part of the story normally? think i'll wait to sign up for your method till i see some pics at the least for now.

why is it always needed to meet up to prove hash quality, when it's so easy to get a pic up. not that i'm against sampling, but wanna see some melty bubbles first :bongsmi:

You can't patent people dropping dry cured buds onto the perfect screen?? Can you??? I'm not going to buy one.

Screens are X size.

Resin glands are X size, so are the stalks.

Refrigerate everything. Take your aged-drysift and sift that through a screen that allows the stalk through, but is too small for the head. All you need to do it agitate the screens against each other and they have to be thin screens.

I will try it myself, I just doubt my grinder will do the trick for anything, as I am not spending my money..

Hey guys...

I guess I'm what you would call a lurker on this site. I am decent at growing my own cannabis and that's basically it.. I am not saying that I have any incredible drysift or similar (have never made any actually :D)

Anywho, seeing as this is a bit of a mystery, I felt compelled to do my own little research.. Which I did using the search function on this site!

So, I found two quotes which I would like your opinion on:

First one is from user pineolene in https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=219379

99.9+% pure trichome heads, done and done for my hero Sam S. Next is 99.9+% dry screen... I've been talking to a certain aussie who has(h) given me some clues towards replicating the Sam S technique ultrasonic what?!

Second one is from user bloyd in https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=166872

I always wondered if sam used a vibrating bed by chance for his 99% pure dry sift given that he said he first developed the method in a hotel room

So guys, what do you think? Are we getting closer to the secret or am I completely wrong? I sure would like your opinions on this..

Good vibes from Denmark - McTore:jump::dance013:

I don't think theres a secret beyond knowing what screen sizes you need for strain specific trichs, stalks etc to fall through.

Sure vibration could be apart of this, however from the pics shown and AMOUNTS shown I would say its just some really carefully made dry sift with custom screen sizes that fit a specific genetic or harvest.

I have seen some interesting videos of vibration used on sand or something like that and they were able to make really interesting shapes and movements with the vibration, but I do not believe this method could be used to separate mature trichs from the other crap, unless theirs structural aspects of mature trichs that greatly differ from immature or talks ETC All I know about this is that mature trichs are amber for and usually larger for the most part, so larger screens tend to catch the goods, letting crap fall through!

well if you had a vacuum under the small screen so the heads would stay on it, but all the crumbs from the leaf or the trich stalks will get sucked through the screen. ideally you'd need both, a few vibrations then a vacuum from bellow and another few shakes and again some suction from below and so on.

Somewhere there is a thread on dry sieving that we did using sound and another on the Grinning Reaper that uses a palm sander.

I have a larger speaker and 160 Watts of ampflication for a larger unit based on sound and the Grinning Reaper, plus we have been playing with ultrasonic transducers, and the next step is to mount one (that still works) to the existing Grinning Reaper.

I picked up an 80W Ultrasonic transducer on E-Bay, without any instruction sheets, so I turned it over to our electronics Guru, whom built us a 160Watt amplifier out of a dual channel Sony 80W unit we scored for $20 and built us a driver for $50.

Unfortunately neither of us knew that you can't power up an ultrasonic transducer without having it mounted to enough mass to dissapate the heat and energy, so after finding at what frequency the transducer turned into a black hole from a current draw point, using low voltage, we zapped the transducer with 80 Watts of power at 40,000 cycles and it worked like a charm for about ten seconds.

This time around, I bought both a 60Watt ultrasonic transducer, and driver from the same Chinese vendor on E-Bay so there is no question of responsibility for it's life span.

The unit in the attached picture is what I received and checked the electronics out using a dummy load. It has a 110 60 cycle VAC input and a 28K hertz output.

The aluminum plate pictured didn't come with the kit and I am using it for both a heat sink and an increase in mass. I will drill the plate for the same hole pattern as the palm sander on the Grinning Reaper, and give it a test drive.

Hee, hee, hee, more on that later.

a friend of mine from colorado .. said there using 4 diff size screens.. and he made a box.. that u hook a shop vac up to it.. both sides.. blowing and sucking.. he uses a very small shopvac.. and he says he can get skunkman quality dry sift.. took him a while to figure it out.. but he finaly did it .. and it works great. hes supposed to come up in april.. so im hoping he brings some strains.. to try up here.. and shit.

The vacuum really speeds up the process!
