Sacramento clones

i just had a minor heart attack a few hours ago. had to turn down my fan speed controller because peeps were comin' over. upon turning the controller back up, i musta leaned too hard on my radiant 8 hood and it fell on top of 2 plants. the light was hung with chain and doubled up bailing wire shaped as a C-clip to hang from the roof support. guess the bailing wire was too flexible and couldn't hold that much weight, so it slipped and down she went. ended up having to harvest a few side branches of a hindu skunk and about half of a cherry pie. both had around a week left, so i guess it's ok. was around 95% cloudy trichs. it's gonna be nice smokin' on some cherry pie again. i was so sad when i hit the bottom of that jar :(

I was changing over to MH bulbs for the final flush and dropped the glass onto a hindu as well. Wont do that again, lol. Good its close to the end indeed.

definitely won't be doing that again. bent up some new c-clips out of some 1/8" rod i had laying around. don't know why i didn't use it in the first place. i think i'll invest in yoyo hangers. also, don't put things you may need to mess with in the far corner of your flower box. moral of the story: learn from other's mistakes so it doesn't happen to you.

i am curious what this CCI situation is. i am in the sacramento area and looking to acquire some quality clones and genetics, but i could not find too much information through this thread on where to go, other than Capitol Wellness or Horizon. are clones available through CCI? it seems that there are some elite varieties floating around within that group. any other recommendations in my clone search would be greatly appreciated. i'd like to put a handful of ladies outside within a month or so and i just want to figure this out before i actually drive to sacramento for the day. any help is greatly appreciated!

nonnativecali2 - there's around a dozen or so clubs in the sac area. most of them will have clones on any given day. obviously, toward the weekend they're prolly going to be cleaned out of the good stuff because that's when most people with jobs will find time to go clubbing. also check out CA NORML and sacramentocannabisclubs.com for a listings and some reviews of clubs. elites are out there, it's just a hit and miss because there's competition out there to snag 'em up. doesn't help when some people can't clone on their own for whatever reason and buy up a 12 pack.

i still like to go to clubs and pick up some variety to smoke on from time to time and was over at Horizon on Friday(?). For some reason female budtender was really pushing these seedlings of NL. If they were confirmed cuts, then hells yeah! but for some seedlings that only have 1.5 sets of true leaves for $15, no thanks! only thing else i saw were some sickly looking lavender clones. all were in styrofoam cups, ewww :(

but dang man are those guys chargin' for their meds! must be the plastic jars or something. i dunno why i didn't just call up FF and make arrangements for some of that Chem. what was I thinking? i got some NL and some Jack Herer, they look and smell really good, but an hour later i'm having to smoke it again! maybe a big-ole goober of all this bubble i've got will help!

HighonPottery- thanks for the information. i've browsed on CANORML before but am now checking out weedtracker for some reviews and menu information. ive never been to sacramentocannabisclubs.com but ill check it out. i'm concerned about confirmed cuts and genetics, as i was unsure if co-op's actually verify the genetics from the source. i dont know how most would? i love some jack if its done proper!

i've never went to the clubs for my meds, because they seem to be more costly, but i would like to see what variety is out there for treating my conditions successfully. having just seen the menus on some of the sacramento co-op's it looks like i need to get pre-verified to go in next weekend ;).

I just picked up an old PM from Trybud asking me to check in and talk about his Blueberry clone that I picked up from Horizon in Sacramento.

I put this Blueberry into 12/12 on March 1st, after about a week of veg to establish roots. It's been sharing 192 watts of T5HO fluorescents in a small cabinet. The medium is Fox Farm Light Warrior in a one-gallon nursery pot. It's been fed Lucas Formula at a ratio of 6/12 ml/gal.

This plant is a very heavy producer relative to many other strains I've grown. It's up there with Bogglegum and Pot of Gold. You can't really tell much about a strain's true production when you look at my plants. I prune and top well into flower if it's necessary to keep the plants at a certain height. I also never veg for more than 10 days, and I grow in one-gallon pots under T5s. Almost anyone else will get much better production results.

This plant was topped once, and you can see how it formed two central buds. One thing I really like about this plant is that the lower buds are maturing very evenly compared to the upper buds. Most of my plants are late maturing in the lower buds, probably because they're under T5 fluorescents.

This Blueberry rates very high on the scale of "easy to grow." It can handle low nutes and high nutes, and it can handle dry medium and soaked medium. It looks great whatever you throw at it.

I've been running DJ Short's Vanilla Moon and F-13 from Harborside, and this Sacto. Blueberry bears no resemblance to those plants. There's not a hint of purple or blue in the buds. The odor of this Blueberry is very fruity, with maybe just a hint of berries.

All in all, this Blueberry is a great plant to run, and a great plant to look at. It smells great and looks great. It will be a while until I have a smoke report, which is what's really important.

One thing I will say is that this Blueberry is much more like a Bubblegum or a Bubbleberry to me. There's no blue color and no blueberry smell, but that's fine with me.

After running Harborside's authentic DJ Short Vanilla Moon and F-13, those plants are a running battle with nute levels and medium moisture levels. They both look all stunted and gnarled and mutated no matter what I do. They produce fantastic weed, but they're not really a joy to grow.

Trybud's Blueberry is just the opposite in terms of joy in growing. In fact, if I were a cash cropper, I'd seriously give this plant a run. The growth and maturity are very steady, it has great looks and smell, and it's a heavy producer. It may not be much of a Blueberry, but it's a high-quality pot plant.

I try to be honest with my reviews and comments. The fact that I'm not disappointed about the lack of Blueberry qualities should tell you that this plant looks like a winner in most categories.

Interesting review there, it's supposed to be a 96 Dj Short Blueberry it could just be a odd pheno without the mutation. I'd still like to give it a run in my setup

Also when I was at Capital Wellness Collective the other day the chick was saying that we have a farmers market here in Sacramento for clones n meds and they have the days listed on the calender there I just didn't have time to look.. So next anyone is in there ask about it I know I am going to cuz it would be nice to not have to go outta town for a farmers market ya know?

its a '96 Dj short that was backcrossed and crossed to ('96 dj F2 x Dabney Blue...sourced in Florence, OR) that last cross w/ the dabney was done by me in 04(? it's all a blur now)...the lack of blueberry smell puzzles me, i get awesome flavor/smell using just floranova bloom throughout its growth cycle.....smell/taste is why i kept it in the 1st place, nevermind the better-than-average potency for a blueberry strain..........I'd bring odds and ends in if that farmers market really exists...

Hmm... very interesting. I need to visit Capitol Wellness' new location and check into that, I've got some stuff to share as well. Some Tribal Vision and some Deep Congo, a few Dubyas I'm not going to have the room for. You never know, maybe Krakatoa will bring in some of that Vanilluna and F13 to share... :chin:

Chopped this Dubya yesterday at day 72. Grown under a 600W Agrosun in 1 gallon of coco, 1 week veg, straight Lucas formula w/Hygrozyme and blackstrap, 2 week flush. Yes, that's a quart jar, I just have big meathooks:

Thanks GetMo. I wish I could get my pics to look like yours, every single trichome all glisten-y and prominent. Your pics are totally amazing.

I really wish I knew the background of the Dubya. I got her from Capitol Wellness in October of 2007, labeled as Pot of Gold, but she was totally different than the rest. I've never seen another Hindu Kush/Skunk hybrid finish so red/purple. Has anyone else had that experience with Pot of Gold/Hindu Skunk/Golden Skush? Also, she needs at least 10 weeks to properly finish, can go 12 weeks if you like, and gets those mad foxtails. Could be a Skunk-leaning phenotype from someone's seed grow of PoG? Mr Nice Critical Mass? I may never know. But the Dubya will probably still be my favorite. Even if she didn't yield like crazy I'd still love her flavor and all-day smoke.

Anyone else get cuts from CW around that time period? What did you get?

PS: check out the Super Jack... :headbange

mmmm that blueberry looks mighty tasty for a plant grown under fluoros! doin' something right, krakatoa!

farmer's market in sac, huh? sounds too good to be true.

PondeLftHndSide - that super jack looks good man! got pics of the weird HK-S? any issues with pH/nutes or rootbind? strange that it goes for so long, too. could be from another breeding source than the cut that's going around now. my HK-s hasn't shown any color except light green with white frost.

Yeah, no shit, that's a gnarly bud for a fluoro grow, great job Krakatoa.

HighOnPottery - The plant in question is the Dubya, pictured a few posts back, take a look. Her origins remain a mystery, but after almost 2 years I don't really care. I've got her dialed now, 72-75 days gives me the high I'm looking for. I let one go 80 days recently and it made the high kind of smudgy. Took away a lot of the crispness from the head, which is one of my favorite aspects of the Dubya high. Sure was pretty, though.

ahhh, so the 'dubya' is the HK-S of question...gotcha! yeah, definitely doesn't look the same as what I've got. nice colors though. I'm considering pulling mine in a few days around 60 days/8 weeks. They look pretty close. About half the hairs have changed color and the trichs are cloudy. Got a good look at the drying buds who's branches broke off when my light fell and oh man do they look tasty. Gonna give em a few days in a paper bag before testing.

And oh man, this is my first time using a real charcoal filter and lemme tell ya, that thing does it's job. Never paid too much attention to it earlier, but I had the buds hanging inside the tent and took them out to put into paper bags. Couple hours later, my whole garage reeks like nugs 'cuz they're not in the tent. I dunno how I ever got away without a real filter when I had the Hogs, 'cuz I could smell it across the street.
