Rusty Old Plants

What is the opinion on cutting the bad leaves? I would think that the affected leaves have no benefit, and are only taking more energy for the parts of the plant that can better use that energy. I had some rust spots starting in my DWC, and it deff had to be due to a lack of nuets. I was worried about over doing it, and ended up under doing it. Ended up putting in about 75% of the recommended amount and my plants look much better, and the growth is amazing. I am just waiting to see if the spots stop in the new growth.

My opinion on cutting bad leafes is the following: Let the plant handle it, she knows whereas we have to guess. The plant gets rid in no time of leafes that she doesn't want anymore.

I had the same expirience and i bet my left testicle that radium spots have the same origin.

The myth that DWC needs lower nute strength is still alive but its not true.
It will lead to defs, and sometimes even to burns... how can that be?
Ever saw the tips on leafes turning brown, even with low nute strength? How is this possible?
IME, people use half strength nutes, but half strength nutes don't lower the pH as much as full strength nutes would, so the overly cautios new DWC grower uses a shitload of pH down (phospric acid) in toxic doses, this will cause the burned tips, additionally to the defs that are appearing.
Next thing is usually somebody recommending this and that additive (which contain NPGMg) to correct the low nutes. Additives are not nessecary, proper nute levels are.
