Rule, What sort of pump are You using? A power head will most likely have a venturi ,but not many pumps do. Just curious .

Rule, your setup is inspirational. I've been following the bio bucket threads for a while now and your closet design rocks! One question though...900gph pump? Holy crap Man! LOL Doesn't that kind of flow overfill the bucket?

Striker: Surely you can't be serious?
Rumack : I am serious, and don't call me Shirley!

it was just an extra pump i had from a previous grow, i have the hose narrow from a 1/2 inch to 1/4 inch, so the flow is harder and less water flowing. no probs with over flowing. it also goes about 18 inches straight up from res to bucket, which makes for less gph.

Typical power head note the clear airline for venturi

A typical submersable water pump

My bad for not relating the difference

mine looks like the bottom one except i have the venturi which is detachable.

Some pumps like "GenX & Sedra " brands used for aquarium protein skimmers use modified needle wheel impellers with venturi's for producing bubbles

When it comes to creating bubbles AND volume of water flow these are the Big Dogs!

SWEET!!

How do you keep the temps down? A 400 HPS in a closet seem like it would generate a lot heat

Nice job

Well, my testing is done on this unit, it works fantastic.

The reason I harvested at 6 weeks was cuz I used an accelerated light schedule. 8 on and 12 off. I harvest at 70 to 80 percent cloudy trichs and 20 to 30 percent clear trichs, like the heady buzz. Shaved at least a full week off flower time. These buds are drying now, I will get a pic up of the finished product in a few days.

Cool grow, man. Are ya keeping the rez temps at 68 just by using the A/C unit? Must be pretty chilly in your closet! I really like your setup. I figure that you mean 8/16 on the light burn. I've done 12/12 and 10/14 but, Wow, I didn't know that you go 8/16 and still get good results! Keep up the good work!

Attndnt: Excuse me sir, there's been a little problem in the
cockpit . . .
Striker: The cockpit . . . what is it?
Attndnt: Its the little room in the front of the plane where the
pilots sit, but that's not important now. You see the
first officer is ill and the Captain need someone to
help him with the radio. Do you know anything about
planes?

No, you read it right, 8/12. As long as you have 12 hours dark, they flower.
The entire room is 68F. I keep the closet open most of the time.

Oh Ok, I misunderstood. I gotcha meaning now. I also like the flip-top rez. Haven't seen one like it at the stores. The flip-top looks like a "must" with your configuration to get to the stuff.

You could run long enough hose from the res to the tub. I just designed it this way to fit my needs. I think it looks better as an all in one type of unit.

I've been watching this thread, and this is a BAD ass solution to solve certain "design" problems for a new grow in a new place in a closet somewhere in the US.

Good show!

I ended up with about 1 1/2 oz. from 2 plants no taller than 18 inches tall under a 400w.
