yhea, all that hot hot water, use a blender, more silica..... i'm over it, like doing too much work just to get a spray ready to go
that's why i switched to 70% neem oil
i don't use neem that often, even when battling bugs hard i don't use it as often as other things (iso, soaps, oils) - when i do use it i'm not in the mood to fiddle with it

I find that a neem oil spray works to keep the box elder bugs from hanging out on the outside of my place. They seam to avoid the area's that I've sprayed with the neem oil mix.

All the plants are green and humming avinash. I have adopted a more and more minimalist approach to IPM work.

Liking your array of new seeds. :) Great work on those. Bonus points for using fecund. Aside from myself i've only seen a handful of people that have used that word in more "casual" settings. lolz

thanks 3rd eye!
day one of week 4; last night things looked nice and plump like budset is over and it's time to swell and bulk and put on stank & weight.

last night i foliar fed aloe, coconut water, humics, yucca, em1 and "true blooms".

veg is chugging along, i'm spraying in there with spinosad next and then some beneficials like aloe, humic, em1, quantum lite
i'm starting to see some flying bugs in the veg room, so it's time for a big diatomaceous earth topcoat in veg and probably a transplant for nearly every plant in there.

out in the tents; i have the "breeding tent" full up of what was previously listed
AND
now have cleaned out the other tent ("tester tent" previously) and put 2x smaller kiddie pools (probably about 50 gallons of soil each) and i am transplanting my most prime clones into these kiddie pools. plan on giving them a couple weeks of veg before the flip,
and
trying to flip the bloom tent asap; am considering delaying the bloom of the male sour bubble by a couple weeks, will move him in to the kiddie pool tent to veg an extra week to give the harem a chance to catch up

that sounds like a plan.....

Nice man. I remember your threads from years ago. Always doing it right. Just moved out of the Fort and Colorado. Good memories though.

thanks Qq, appreciate the kind words

I had to google that one real quick as I've never seen/heard it. I had to make sure you weren't trying to drop some Yiddish on us

thanks for noticing my vocab skills :D ( I got no skills in yiddish tho, lol)

took a few shots of my leaf mulch pulled back;

^ Catpiss crosses, probably the quickest to turn into bloom in the entire room, well ahead of the rest of the plants - especially the catpiss x moontang has a quick turn and fast stack, swells nicely while other plants are still setting buds.

did a big feeding of kelp, basically just soaked a bunch of kelp meal in water with a lil bit of kashi for 24 hours or so, fed with the water and topdressed with the wetted kelp meal. about 10 minutes after i topdressed with the soaked kelp meal i look at the soil beds and there were small worms all over the kelp...

also did topdress in veg with DE because i'm seeing lots of fliers (almost sure they are fungus gnats) - also plan on watering in some gnatrol - so hopefully they wont get any further foot hold in my soil, after i water in gnatrol and let the soil surface dry out a lil bit again I will topdress again with diatomaceous earth (using the white stuff, not brown)

Would the DE not mess with the worms though? Do you have any Rove Beetles and/or hypoaspis miles mites? I figured you would since you guys share the same name

my worms stay low enough in soil. and MOST of my worms are in bloom, no gnats there really, the gnats are in veg mostly, and the DE topdress went into veg
as soon as de becomes wet it's harmless to everything, so i don't worry about it so much, when soil is dry worms aren't in it... they like moist dirt. so usually before applying de i will let soil dry out a lil bit, even water from the bottom for a week so that i'm not soaking the de topdress...

i def have h. miles in the kiddie pools (i got some from evergreen, i asked for a discout based on my sharing a name with the tiny critters but they declined, jk lol)
I might have some roves, but prolly not many. and if so mostly in the bloom pools

when i'm on a warpath those beneficials better stay the hell out of my way, because i'm fixing to kill some gnats right now, if i take a few worms, roves, h. miles and pill bugs down in the process... i might just be OK with that
also that's why i got the gnatrol also.... same BTI as in microbelift BMC and in mosquito dunks

still spraying with spinosad and iso in rotation with beneficials for keeping spider mites away (hopefully just preventative, haven't seen any in a couple weeks)

Looking killer as always.

That sunset too....wow!

Amblyseius Cucumeris is what you need for those flyers. Took out a decent thrip problem and haven't seen a fungus gnat in i cant remember.

I have a pot of cover crops and morning glories to make sure they stick around.

thanks vp420

finished trimming the Gorilla Glue #1 testers today, seems like there are 2 distinct "smell-o-types" a kush and a berry stank. looking forward to the jar cure from these, should be real fine smoke that is potent as hell (judging by how frosty some of these are).
the testers under the LED did better than those under the 400w HPS, go figure. that being said i still think a 600w or 1k will outdo the big LED panel (which has nearly NO lateral lighting, it shoots a beam of light straight downwards, no spread, and the intensity of light is so strong in the center of the panel but very weak toward the edge of the panel, it really doesn't even light a 4x4 square properly imo)

the breeding tent is set back up for another seed run using sour bubble male. this round of breeding will use vertical bare bulbs, one 400w and one 600w.

^ 400w donut

after snapping these pictures i top-dressed with bokashi, then mulched with old hay, then watered in a tea of kelp, kashi, em1, quantum lite, yucca, and frass.
when making these "teas" i just fill a 5 gallon bucket, add kelp meal, bokashi, and frass - let that sit overnight or 24 hours, then add the liquid inoculates; em1 & quntum light - and finally stir in the liquid yucca (thermex 70)

i plan on flipping these donuts of females today or tomorrow but keeping the male back in veg for another 2 weeks, let the ladies get a headstart - i did this last round and it seemed to increase the number of seeds i pulled, while also extending the time needed to get mature & finished seeds (from 6-8 weeks to more like 8-10 weeks)

the OTHER tent (formerly tester tent) is also set back up and ready to veg for a couple weeks before going into bloom (this is where the sour bubble male will chill until his harem is ready).
picture.php

^ these 2 smallish kiddie pools (50 gallons of soil or so) are filled with 12 plants each (2 types, 6 of each). strains are trapper creek, catpiss moontang, lime cookies bubba, and white99

ALL the plants in both of these tents got the kashi top-dress and mulch and tea feeding, donuts and kiddie pools

the plan is to hang a trellis net over the 2 kiddi pools... hopefully the little plants in there put on some veg growth in the next couple weeks, there is a 1000 w HPS over each kiddie pool and a 6 inch fan pulling hot air out of the tent.

the plan is to have the 2 tents on opposite flowering schedules, when one tent is ON it will ventilate into the OFF tent with hot air, keeping that tent warm, and vice versa when the flowering lights switch. basically like a flip room with an ac damper but for heat instead of cooling.
i did this before with 2 adjoining bedrooms, put a duct thru the closet and a fan on each side on opposite timers (iirc in the "peek into avi's vert room of many flavors" thread). the room these tents are in is relatively secure in terms of heat to begin with, i have insulated doors and windows, also have an incinerator in the barn that burns coal, wood, trash, whatever... just in case it ever gets really really cold out there.

either the 400w bulb or ballast just shitted out, don't have another 400w bulb OR ballast to check which one went out.
switched it out for a 1kw hps, so far so good

Interesting stuff you got going on my man. Are you using a flip switch with that set up ? I presume its in some type of barn or shed ? My buddy in Thonton also uses the kiddie pools , he just puts several plants in containers or bags in there and bottom feeds, letting the plants fight for the water, not ideal but works pretty good for him. hes just all about blasting for shatter

ya those tents are in an outbuilding, barn/ garage type place - it's insulated and has water and some ways to heat different areas.
no flip switch just a few 120 timers
i plan on eventually tearing the tents down and doing some form of buildout in that same space that could accommodate 6-8 more bloom lights, at that point i'll get proper timers and electrical, for now everything in the tents is 120v

At least you had a backup!! Looking good brother!!

thanks RMJ, always gotta have a backup!

happy to say that after a week of treatment i'm seeing very few gnats, still none in bloom, none in the tents, and very few in veg where there were loads of fliers previously.
yay for DE and BTI via gnatrol
