DF, yes I did top these early like AK does. Had been wanting
to try and up yield for this strain but I don't think this diesel
liked topping. No big colas like i'm used to. I think yield will suffer
but will find out at the end.

BTW, how about those top feed plans or just tell me the parts and
assembly needed. Probably will be chopping these thanksgiving weekend.

Question about starting seeds...

I germinate in a shot glass, works great. Just wondering if anyone has tried putting the cracked seeds with taproot into the neoprene collars and stared the seedlings in a cloner?

I know allot of people recommend rockwool but I had a bad experience with it, my own error of course, and have read more then a few posts where People are using cloners to start seeds. I believe that Stinkbud fella does it this way as well.. Comments?

Hello. I have been trying to register for two weeks now and finally got in. I was wondering if it was too late to get in on the challenge. I don't have any clones right now but have 26 seedlings going. I have two D.I.Y. areo tables that I use as dwc. I was planning on upgrading one to try your method. I'll post pics later of my setup and previous runs.

I was curious about this also. I saw the same posts about the stinkbud method but was scared to do it with my $200 seeds. Instead I started them in soil and plan to transplant them to my table soon. I don't want to do this again for two reasons:
1. I quickly remembered how much I hate soil and how much I suck at it (pics later)
2. I don't want to stress them by the transplant.

I don't have any mersh seeds but I plan on trying this with seeds I make with the plants I have now.

Those look healthy - I hope they chunk up a lil more for thanksgiving!

Some strains simply hate being topped. But you don't know until the deed is done. After you find this out, extended veg times to firmly establish the two tops can be arranged.

I haven't tried the puck trick for seeds. I use snack baggies with sterile water and paper to germ, and then transfer to dirt.

The challenge is to to get to the end! We plan on having folks starting up at different times. You are welcome to join. Please read this thread from the beginning. You will need to source the nutes and get RO if you don't have it already. For my help to do you the most good, You need to replicate as best as possible what I'm doing. There are no guarantees, but myself and others here in the thread will help you have the best run possible.

Read the thread, do the math, know the risks, join us!

The GDP is starting to really color up. I'm doing an update tonight. They look to go 65 to finish.

I just reread this thread from the start. I think together, we have created one of the most information rich threads on the site. I'm quite pleased that its not just me blathering. Everyone's contributions have added useful information - with zero bs or nastiness found elsewhere. I'm especially proud of our folks giving this a whirl and sharing their results.

Thank you all for your contributions to this thread. Keep up the good work!

I second what AK said above, it's nice to not see the B.S. bickering that seems to infest some threads.

Will let everyone know about the success or failure of the puck method...

BOOMHAUER - I know what ya mean about risking it at a new method. In the same boat myself. Can't wait to see some pics of your setup.

Thanks again to all for the data sheet info and pics, it's very motivating!

Day 63 Bloom Update

Unit:

Side:

Fist Sized:

Bud:

Data:

These are a day or so away from the axe.

I have done two half flushes and drove the the ppm to around a 100. My leaves have yellowed to just about where I want them. I don't want them to go too far, because the bud tips will die - reducing quality.

They are just gorgeous buds. The sweet smell has fully developed the funk undertone. It's hard to capture the color because of the trichome density. In the fist sized shot above, you can start to see the color in the background.

Once again, I'd like to thank the guys at Connoiseur Genetics for this fine cross. Just a reminder, CSG will gift a pack of seeds to any participant that crosses the finish line. A nice carrot indeed!

As always, your comments and questions are welcome.

AK, I agree this is one of the most informative threads on the site.

When you say you do a half flush are you simply dumping half of the res and replacing it with RO water?

Yes a half flush is a half dump and fill. The pH goes up because its getting close being water. My res atm has less ppm than a lot of folks tap.

Day 65 - Last Day!

Unit:

Chopped!:

I was concerned with bud tips getting browned, so down they came.

They look and smell terrific. I have 1 plant per hanger so I can calculate variability and standard deviation.

I'll be back in a few days with nugs shots and numbers.

As always, your comments and questions are welcome.

Thanks Guys!

While we wait for them to dry - Here's a fun shot from my 5Lb challenge thread.

The Real Thing:

I normaly don't take extra victory laps, but grows with solid buds all bigger than a 2 liter aren't that common. Sides after all the flak I took in that thread - these are pretty sweet rewards!

Thanks for the small indulgence.
