One catastrophic injury or illness could be a financially slow death.

at a minimum, i think all Americans should have access to affordable education and health care.

"Nearly two-thirds of all personal bankruptcies are linked to medical expenses. In 2007, 62.1 percent of all Americans filing for bankruptcy pointed to medical costs as a reason for their filing – that is one family filing for bankruptcy in the aftermath of illness every 90 seconds. Most “medical debtors” were well educated and middle class and “three quarters of them were insured.” [The American Journal of Medicine, 2009]

Medical crises are a major contributing cause of foreclosures. In the midst of an historic crisis in the housing market and record foreclosures, a recentstudy of four states found that medical crises contribute to half of all home foreclosure filings. More than one-third (37 percent) of homeowners that were studied had no health insurance whatsoever. “If these patterns hold nationwide, medical causes may put as many as 1.5 million Americans in jeopardy of losing their homes each year.”[Health Matrix, 8/18/2008]"

Is an "I got mine, screw everyone else" mentality really what we want for our country?
I'd sure rather live in a place where the poor and sick are taken care of, and I'm happy to pay taxes for that.

Just wish that's where most of my taxes actually went!

Medicare and Medicaid made an estimated $23.7 billion in improper payments in 2007.
These included $10.8 billion for Medicare and $12.9 billion for Medicaid.
Medicare’s fee-for-service reduced its error rate from 4.4 percent to 3.9 percent. (U.S. Office of Management and Budget, 2008)
Every $1 the U.S. government invests in combating Medicare and Medicaid fraud saves $1.55. (U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, 2009)
Medicare paid dead physicians 478,500 claims totaling up to $92 million from 2000 to 2007. These claims included 16,548 to 18,240 deceased physicians. (U.S. Senate Permanent Committee on Investigations, 2008) Nearly one of three claims (29 percent) Medicare paid for durable medical equipment was erroneous in FY 2006. (Inspector General report, Department of Health and Human Services, 2008)
Medicare and private health insurers pay up to $16 billion a year for needless imaging tests ordered by doctors. (American College of Radiology, 2004)

Other Medicare Stats

Medicare paid more than $1 billion in questionable claims for 18 categories of medical supplies that patients don’t appear to need. The study covered claims between January 2001 and December 2006. The claims included walkers for patients with purported sinus congestion, paraplegia or shoulder injuries. Hundreds of thousands of claims were made for diabetes-related glucose test strips for patients with purported breathing problems, bubonic plague, leprosy or sexual impotence. (U.S. Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, 2008)

Mitt Romney: Medicare fraud allegations and ‘Blood Money’
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...edicare-fraud/2012/01/29/gIQA0ZQabQ_blog.html

Romney, Damon Corporation and a $119 Million Medicare Fraud Settlement
http://www.addictinginfo.org/2012/0...-and-a-119-million-medicare-fraud-settlement/
According to a cited Forbes report, in 1989, Bain Capital purchased controlling interest in Damon Clinical Laboratories Corporation, a medical testing company located in Needham, Massachusetts.
In 1996, Damon admitted that from 1988 to 1993 it had shored up its earnings by submitting false claims to Medicare and other federal programs, and had agreed to pay , after being found guilty, a $35.3 million criminal fine — one of the largest corporate fines in U.S. history — and an additional $83.7 million to settle the lawsuits..

Just a few billion lost on that NON PROFIT!!! Who you think they letting steal it...Bain Capital and crones. It was no accident I posted ROMNEY's thefts too.

Ron Paul's 2002 Predictions All Come True
What about all the 2008 predictions that did not happen?

Selective memory breeds delusion.

Pepole like to act like the Gov't helping with insurance and us not wanting that gives them the moral high ground. The truth of the matter if the Gov't isn't a charity. Me and many others give to charities every day, we pay others bills, we do plenty to help out our fellow man. We don't need the Federal Gov't treating healthcare like they do foodstamps. You been smoking pot, you no longer get healthcare/foodstamps. I wonder how many of these moral highground tax payers voted or wanted foodstamp recipients drug tested, adding yet another layer of Gov't control.

Then there is the economics of it....see my above post.

2008 predictions
Ron Paul predicted economic collapse in debates! 2008

truth of the matter is govt is not FOR PROFIT, like every other insurance company. Insurance companies need to make profit, govt only needs to cover costs.

100's of death panels vs. one.

I WONDER why doesnt the GOP just come out a say flatly, "we are cutting your Medicare"???

Can you explain that?

(Because old people vote more than any other group, and old people LOVE medicare, they want more, not less). YOU go tell grandma she cant have as much healthcare, youll earn your opponent a vote.

400 people have the same worth as the bottom half (200,000,000). How does lowering their taxes make ANY SENSE in a closed monetary (fiat) system?

Pay attention.
Ron Paul is ending the Wars so he can keep SS and Medicare/caid solvent.
The others R and your man will destroy all domestic assistance financing the war mongers.
Ron Paul has ZERO desires to cancel the any domestic assistance immediately.
He will set it up so we can get off of it eventually because he knows those abusing the system and getting away with it are in the loop and being fed cash.
In order to get grandma/pa off of the Gov't tit you have to let them keep what they earn. 0% Income tax, then we are on the right path.

You get to choose how to spend you cash, the Gov't doesn't dictate how or who will get it.

I agree 100% that is messed up. That what happens when you let Corporations buy our Gov't. Our system is set up to help those in the loop out and force others out of business. Examples. Weed, Raw Milk, Small/Medium farms all over, Mom & Pop stores, anything local they will attempt to kill through redevelopment. The forces they use are the ones I been fussing about, EPA, FDA, DEA, FED, IMF, UN, NATO, etc etc......Just go talk to your local small business owners and see what they say. I talk to them daily.

McDonalds and corps like that were in on the stolen TRILLIONS from the FED. They got it free or at the very least interest free. They do things like that and funnel money to people like Romey and his Bain people thru Medicare/caid fraud. Things like that bro.

I only partially blame you Itisme for your misguided ways.

It is much easier to feed you garbage, junk ideas, 'point the finger', etc.

If i had a rudimentary understanding of how politics works, if i didnt understand what a fiat money system was, i could totally understand your point of view.

I do think ive attempted to enlighten you with more than just youtube videos. I thought your (supposed) understanding world domination (NWO) could lead to a brigdehead into your thought process.

But you refused to analyze even the most basic premisses.

Would the NWO you seek to prevent want lower taxes or higher taxes? Which would be an easier way to dominate you, 'poision' your food, set your land aside, etc, or just control ALL THE MONEY.

Fiat money = limited supply.

If we have 100 people, and 100 dollars.

If one person has $95 dollars, 99 people have to fight for $5
The one guy with $95 can play and speculate in the market all they wish because if they lose 75% of their money, they are still fucking LOADED!

The 99 fighting over the $5... well that one guy with the $95 needs to convince 49 of those guys that taxes are too high.

[Faux News enters the scene]

Again, ill point to Fiat Money in the 1950's, when tax rates on the top tier were >90%, and

you could have a wife, 3 kids, new house, new car, two weeks vacation a year, and 40 hour a week job.

The drop in tax rates happens to coincide with the fall of American living standards... interesting...

I didnt see any pictures of soup and bread lines for the rich in the 50's either....

I feel your lack of understanding how the Gov't feeds its chrones while suppresses the masses shows your lack of enlightenment. See MSM Ron Paul coverage as a prime example.

You ignore all the "truth" Ron Paul spoke of and you have not added any content that I can recall other than your own opinion. I have reffernced Property right specailists, People being shut down by the FDA for raw milk, Billions in Medicare/caid fruad, Many others first hand accounts of the EPA impeding on their own private land, and many many other things. I have added much more value to this thread than you my friend, but I hope you can try and be constructive and not continue the name calling and insults. I wil report you and others at this point if they continue. I have been very patient and polite.

Raw milk, private land, none of those things are going to get someone elected. you talk about garbage that if someone cared about they would already be voting for Dr Paul.

I was only the one who actually posts how ron paul could win the presidency (among many other pertinent things)...

There are no youtube videos, no news clips, as none of the talking heads will acknowledge its actually possible.

I doubt you understand it. Especially if you dont recall me doing it.

You dont address any of the direct questions asked. You spin them into a RP blurb, rather than address the DIRECT prose. You did a better job than avg with the medicare question, but even that was spin. At least Dr Paul doesnt spin HIS responses.

I do remember you bringing in some good info, a while back now.

I also remember you have had an attitude even then.

Note my above post shows the futility of trying to communiate with you in a nice manner. Note your constant passive aggrsive if not just aggesive, rude, and dimissive attitude.

What about all the 2008 predictions that did not happen?
and I posted where he predicted that bust.

You how taxes being lowered didn't help Elite
Which is absurd and I explained that. Your doing a lot of lying in here son.

I am done with you for good now though as your foudation for trying to enlighten anybody has eroded into obscurity.
