Sighhhh............don't you get it? It's *all* bread and circuses all of it. There ARE no " good alternatives" , none , zip , zero , NADA.
By the time *any* politico make it inside the Beltway they're bought and paid for , they are *owned*.
Our political system is a breeding ground for corruption all the way from the local level to the top , and by the time they're running for a presidential nomination they've honed their skills.
Examine the role of the media in all this , examine who controls various facets of the media and who benefits with the elction of whom.
***follow the money*** , not just the candidate. Ask yourself who benefits , along with the where , how and why , always follow the money.
And if you *can't * always " follow the money" then quite often later there will be the redolent smell of rotting fish in the Danish sun example: The Clintons still smell like Kippers , can't wash the stench of Mena arkansas and all those bodies off.

For someone who loves The Constitution so much, id love to hear Dr Pauls thoughts on why the Articles Of Confederation failed. States rights caused many many problems.

Many of his theory's as to how things should work, i also agree with, but putting them to action is impossible (kinda like proper communism).
Dr Paul will not be able to end corporate welfare, nor the ingrained "capitalism for profits and socialism for losses". These are legislative issues for legislatures, it is not the work of the executive branch.
He will get republican backing to end the EPA, DOE, etc, sell Federal land and leases to multinationals who dont give a fuck about this country, etc, etc, etc.
But... theoretically, all non violent (MJ) drug offenders should be set free, and i will be free to do and to talk about something im going to do all day anyway.
Would love to go to a weed bar, or open one myself!

Ron Paul is the man. As President he wouldn't try and run our lives or need to do special favors due to getting "donations" from big business or corps. There is a reason special interests stay away from him and that is exactly what we need in the white house.

I think a lot of you are naive to think Dr Paul's administration couldnt (unintended-ly) lead to a rise in Corporatism (Mussolini's thoughts).
