Road kill skunk, the real skunk

Old school skunk (f1 Test seeds @oldschoolgenetics Oldman Green

The phenotype of shorter stature and harder buds all peed with that strong and incredible aroma, I like it but people who do not smoke find it a very annoying smell haha

FYI, the typical skunk smell is not only caused by terpenes but also by thiols. A combination of both.

Terpenes are not related whatsoever. The terpene pathway isn't related, at all. In fact, terpenes never entered the Cannabis chat until dispensaries started selling fake weed scented with fruit peels (which are scraps that contain terpenes, the desirable fruit contains sugars and acids.)

I think in the future, things like myrcene and limonene will be seen as flaws in Cannabis, just as skunky notes are flaws in beer, or cork taste in wine.

If you grow organic, you should be able to classify your herb by its inputs.

I don't think I've ever described a plant or terroir as "terpen-ish". I really think people should stop using that word if they don't want to be laughed at once the wine industry starts dissecting cannabis. I have seen articles from 2021 stating myrcene is responsible for every cannabis smell including skunk. That's simply a lie crafted by the industry. And the fact so many prominent people in the legal industry believe it just shows exactly how far and who's ass their head is up.

There’s no accounting for people’s different tastes. Foul nasty baby poo old man breath garbage are all part of some very popular strains.

Skunky beer may be seen as a negative by many brewers and consumers, but Heineken and Rolling Rock sell tons of green bottles that smell funky. It’s part of a flavor profile that some folks appreciate.

I don’t know enough about terps, thiols, flavonoids, sugar acids or other potential compounds to say anything with certainty. Brewers use hops that contain many of the same compounds, it’s not going to be ripped apart by the wine folks.

I was reading on the mr nice forums that 1 in 20 or 30 of the devil will be road kill and when crossed with nordle it increases a bit, it was Shanti that posted it

Can be, but some of this plants smells all roadkill skunk very strong nothing sweet or fruity

He was before the studies were released already been saying for years that Thiols and Mercaptans are were the skunky funk comes from. It are the basic components of skunk spray.

He also explained to me that Thiols and Terpenes can react but this only when a catalyst is in place. Be it that for Thiols and Terpenes to react that UV light is the catalyst.

I asked him several times to join the discussion here on ICMag, but he doesn't really want to get involved in this debate anymore because he has been posting it here for years with as only result people even ridiculing him.

The following are some snippets of the info he had send me about how Thiols and Terpenes can react under UV and create even other components:

Mercaptans, Thiols and Hydrogen Sulfide (all sulfur compounds) can react with Terpenes to create even stinkier chemicals. ;)
The sulfur compounds come from the soil chemistry and the Terps from the Cannabis. The catalyst is UV light (sun).
You need anaerobic (no oxygen) conditions to produce lots of stinky sulfur compounds. Deep and moist soils are good
for this. It's one reason why I say indoors it won't happen. Pots indoors are too shallow.

Just one example of a terpene reaction with a thiol to create a fancy aroma. ;)

The skunky smell in beer is from UV light reacting with a hop oil called humulene to form 3-methyl-2-butene-1-thiol. Humulene is common cannabis terpene. Green and clear bottles don’t protect against the reaction. It can happen in a drinking glass in the sun pretty quickly too.

very incredibly smell and taste, much old diferent skunk phenotypes in the plants that I smoke, but the others looks very similar or better :dance013::dance:
They have rks stinky phenotypes and skunk 1 sweet/frit/chemical phenotypes all very good

Since 15 years ago or more, I didn't have a good skunk in my hands that wasn't uk cheese cut.

Old school skunk by @oldschoolgenetics Oldman Green very good, I love the 2 principal phenotypes(rks and skunk#1) , but are good the roadkill and the skunk phenotypes too, very diferent tastes and very good 🔥 🔥 🔥 :whee:

Some phenos look cheesey that purple hues and foxtails.
What is lenage cheese x super skunk or ?

No, is worked by Oldman Green (old school genetics seeds).
Is 6 old skunk famales selected in old skunk beans (no heimee, todd or blueskiesvienna work)
And in the bx have much different old skunk phenotypes (rks, cheese, fruity skunky, fruity sweet, spici fruity sweet and i remember one chemical skunky to) all good tastes and effects but the rks phenotypes are very very special and is simillar than cheese in structure but more sativa and dark buds
