When your wife catches you in bed with another woman-deny it. Who do you trust, me or your lying eyes?

Thank you Richard!

Richard. We used to get high and listen to him and literally wet ourselves. He expounded on the humor of folks like Moms Mabley and Redd Foxx, gave it his own voice and brought it into the mainstream. I would have liked to hear his improv of the "Aristocrats" joke that the Penn and Teller movie was based on.

As a black man on the time he spent in the joint for tax evasion:

"Yeah, I saw what the word "justice" means in America... "JUST US!"

On freaky sex thoughts you get when you' re high on coke:

"Hey Baby, why don't you get buck naked, run around the block three times, go up on the roof and jump off on my face!"

"Jo Jo dancer" and "Which way is up" were his best work. His PG stuff was funny but he could be darker than Lenny Bruce. His material about growing up was funny but would make you cry.

Thanks Richard

When I was growing up in the 70s there were two comics albums that I wore out, George Carlin and Richard Pryor.

I was surprised to learn that he co-wrote Blazing Saddles with Mel Brooks. Upon reading that I gained whole new appreciation for that movie. I now understand why the black humor and the leading role were so damned funny, it was supposed to have been Richard as Sherrif Bart. Had he starred in that movie instead of Cleavon Little, theaters would have had to call paramedics from people busting their sides laughing so hard.

Sad he is gone, glad his suffering has been lifted.

We miss you Richard. RIP

pryor was a great soul that reached so many, made them all laugh and think too in america's struggling times.. the medium of comedy he mastered to illustrate anything he wanted to deliver, and did so on a platinum platter. don't say he ruined his life because of his poor drug choice, it hurt him, but he was strong and came back funnier than ever. his first performance back was probably the greatest stand up i've ever seen. all the joy he gave us, we must feel a touch of sadness now, but luckily his voice will be able to bring laughter to so many more for years to come. R.I.P. Richard Pryor, your flame will burn forever.

(lights a match) it's richard pryor runnin down the street
