+1 Samson! F1 crossing Swaz with Thaï sounds pretty good, a rare combo idea to explore imo... About my mix i am very surprised with the yields yes, it comes from the Thaïmaz F1. Smell of the girl above is soft but in pomelos/lime, the Swaz dark spice world is far but i wonder to discover her kind of high in few weeks! One Swazi pheno i feel of the mix, smells soft spice and honey floral :

Heres 1 of my durbans in the greenhouse at 53*N,i don't think they'll finish outdoors but its well worth seeing how far i can take them before frost and damp conditions kick in,i've also got a few smaller durbans in pots from the greenhouse plant which will be taken indoors in a week or 2............

Is the Red Thai from RSC? I haven't grown that one or the Highland Thai they used to carry. Have you grown them both? If you have, how did they compare?

Yes RSC's import, I didn't run their Highland but the Red one flavors reminded me a bit the Swaz, darky notes spices, carrots, as Zamal... Energic beat and long lasting, strong high.
...As old Durban or Cape stuff, wibes Mat' :)

In line with the Swazi and Durban, here's another African descendant - Ace's Zamaldelica (i.e. Zamal x Malawi/Thai). Growing at 44 degrees north, it still hasn't started flowering, I hope it starts soon.

44 degrees north.... It wont be done till mid/ end of November.
Anyway to set up a clear plastic greenhouse type thing with a an electric cord going to it for a fan and an oilfilled radiator style heater?
Thats such a gorgeous plant. This queen deserves to finish right without frost damage or early harvesting.
Let her go the full 14 weeks. Do whatever you have too, to protect her from the elements. A fan and heater could also keep the moisture away preventing mold.

Same w/ MarijuanaMat. You already have the greenhouse set up. No need for frost or early harvesting.

I hope you have enough warmth to reach mid-November. The flowers may not be as large as you expect, however the potency should be fine.....if you can make the date.

Thank you for the complements and wishes, people :)
We usually don't get really bad weather before the middle of November, and I guess Zamaldelica will not flower as slowly as a pure Haze or Thai, so unless I get bad luck, it will be able to mature enough. I prefer to harvest early anyways - I like the speedy trip.
Good luck to everybody in the north hemisphere waiting for the outdoor sativas! The interesting photos are about to start coming soon.

And meanwhile, some more Zamaldelica vegetation photos of the same plant:

Did you ever grow the pure zamal line? I tried but I went 0/97 with all the seeds I bought. Hopefully someone f2 it and makes them available.

Yeah that would be great... although best of luck with those Zamal seeds, sometimes they are hard to sprout the bitches! I've been told that some sprout even after weeks in the soil when you have already lost all the faith! haha.
