Some of the best weed I have ever scored, came from a pot store in San Francisco in 1976. It was called Big Top Imports, and located on Polk street. It was run by my old deceased buddy Dennis Peron. He was paying off the Police,but they finally busted him anyway, and shot him.
There were giant woven baskets, and bowls of Columbian Gold, Columbian Red, and sweet fresh Thai Sticks. But the best of all was the Cambodian Red. It had a very classy Incense perfume smell in the smoke, like the most beautiful woman in the world would wear. I've never found that terpene profile since

Could you describe the smell/taste more? I think I have a cross that showed a plant that had a incense/rose/sweet/haze pheno. Does these ring a bell with you? It is an unknown strain too me and I've been trying to figure out where it comes from.

Wow that looks like what I have. Fuckin winner! Even if what I have is a cross of Cambodian I'm damn happy with that

Someone out there is holding it. The closest we might have widely available it a good Kali Mist.
I see pinkish blue color tones. Aromas are floral, minty, leather, menthol, orange, earthy... Nothing incense-like. Smoking it is just like fresh after a thunderstorm. Not really much taste at all, nothing that detracts either.
It is probably too diluted to reveal the true greatness of your Cambodian, but something excellent might pop out in the future generations, if I don't give up on it.
The best incense aromas I have found was Sagamartha's Kali Mist version. I forget the name of it, but people said it was basically Kali Mist. It had sandalwood incense while growing, drying and smoking. Also, Purple Haze Thai that I crossed with SAGE. Didn't smell any incense until the buds were drying in a try. I came home after work and I was like "Wow! Frankincense/sandalwood." The whole house reeked of it. I think I was smelling it outside before I opened the door. I only had a few ounces drying.

I'll have to grow it out again to make sure but from what I've read since growing it? Sounds like I have Cambodian.
I'll have to thank the person who gave me the seeds if I ever run into them again.

Oh man, the things Ive heard about Peron. This is not the place for that. Im glad he was a positive contribution to my favorite plant.
We hung out for about an hour or so. We spoke for 25 minutes and he invited me back anytime, and signed a stationary paper for me to hold up to the 2 way mirror of the front door for admittance.
Every strain he had was imported, and was top shelf.
The Cambodian didn't have a rose terp. It was far more elegant then that. It was almost an imaginary flavor. Something I have never tasted since. After one dubi hit, the room took on a rose colored hue. It was very visual. Almost like mushrooms or a psycodelic.
No, it was far beyond roses, so elegant, and people remarked as the joint came our direction. The room filled with the fragrance.
The Columbian buds were absolute top shelf, but this was far above. I could the chatter as the jay came my way. Probably 30 people in the room. I bought some of everything.
It was a gay friend and a Transvestite got me in there. It was a memorable and interesting trip

Its funny I saved this picture because it reminded me of some spectacular bud I got back in late seventies, it was Maui wowi
And it looked exactly like that pic. And I distinctly remember the smell of wriglies spearmint chewing gum. I also remember Cambodian being described as spearmint. So not surprising Thai's description in Kali/ mint.

Western Winds
Yes, Western Winds. Thanks Herbgreen.
I wouldn't say Western Winds was especially potent, but certainly not weak. It did have a very nice high. It also did not have a ceiling that I could find. It was well loved. I smoked some with an indica lover, and I didn't want him to think of it as weak, so I rolled a fat joint and smoked it with him. It got more and more euphoric the more we smoked.
I thought the Western Winds I got was a mistake. I thought I got AK47 or something instead because of how compact it was with big buds. Of course, it is another hybrid. When I read about Cambodian having the incense aroma. I changed my mind.
All this is reminding me of the Miss Universe I grew. I think there are similarities between the MU and Western Winds. I thought Miss U had an aroma like bananas, but a woody banana aroma/taste. Both had an very slight asthma feel when smoked. Not lung expansive, but a funny kind of feeling. The only other way I could describe it would be like a very dry wine.

I also think there was some similarity to the highs of Miss Universe and Western Winds. They both had a warm fuzziness to them. Frankly, IMHO, I much prefer the Kali Mist cut that was gifted to me. It vaguely reminds me of Thai Stick with a little more clarity and that distinctive electric vibration (buzz) pulsing through my nervous system.
All that being said, I would LOVE to try pure Cambodian Red, if I haven't already. I remember in the late 70s or early 80s, some small wispy red buds were being sold in California. It was not nearly impressive as Thai Stick to me, but it was very clean/clear, tremendously blissful and sneaky strong. Very high grade high. If it was nearly as potent as Thai Stick, I admit it would be superior due to the quality of the high. That quality was the kind of thing you ache for when you remember it, even decades later.

Choco Chibas are great smoke... am smoking now leftovers from plant that is seeded
and it hits hard heady but not paranoya and you feel somehow well from it..
cutted down plant around 80 days and seeds are nice brown mottled..
its all together very good.. if you have chance try those line..
doggy dog recomendation.. total approved as a good sativa strain for those
that suffer PTSD and they wish good sativa for a smoke..

this description of the taste and the look on the pics remind me al ot a mr nice shit cut i posted earlier in this thread and that we are investigating for to find his lineage/parental line as it is very good. we also describe the taste being something very round like some wine. it taste very nutty/chocolate.
