this girl is ready like your prom date was after 3 Boone's strawberry wine coolers.
I just wanted to say, you're showing our age, do they even make that stuff anymore? I remember that commercial in the late 70's of the granny drinking that wine and then riding a wheelie down the street on a chopper!
Peace, God bless

This is definitely a Jamaican long sativa heavy pheno,,,, jungle bush pheno,,, sweet and sour smells.nice..140-160 days 12-12 from seed is what it's looking like from my guess now.

Dead sexy,,but way too long flowering to consider keeping...I got lots of seeds of Malawi x Caribe

I got some Big Buddah silver cheese seeds i need to use up... think I'll do that next in this same box 12/12 from seed and run it on the BB threads page.

On my radar is the Red Sapphire from Ace,,, right up my alley,..

1st round of pics...

Pre-deforestation , after deforestation

Change of nutrients, very sticky fingers after basically stripping all the leaves...now you can see how much bud sites there really is..buds in middle are just as dense as those up against lights...

Still a ways to go... second round of pics incoming

That is a very impressive grow and certainly one of the most interesting I've seen. Everything about this grow is fascinating, the set-up which appears quite futuristic (beam me aboard Scotty). For the past year I've wanted to put adjustable LED's on the sides of the grow room for better light penetration. Your set-up works very well, no further proof needed and you've done an excellent job dialing it in!
The other thing that really got my attention (besides Malawi x Caribe) was when you cut off the bottom 5 branches at the nodes of the main stalk. I often cut off the bottom branches, the first to come out if they appear like they will not grow very large, which they often don't. However, I usually find that the second set of branches from the bottom are usually some of the largest, usually reaching the top of the canopy or close to it, if the main top is also kept pinched. Can you tell us the theory behind cutting off the branches at the first 5 nodes? I only ask for purposes of edification, both for myself and others. I certainly don't question your methods, the result speak for themselves.
Thanks again for posting this grow, it's been very interesting and quite educational. Looking forward to more of your grows on here. Much respect my friend.
Peace, God bless

The Early trimming of the lower branches was done to force more vertical growth and girth of the main stem early and limit the amount of branches...the nodes to start are extremely tight with this type of setup,,the side branches would of overtaken the main stem too early.making a difficult plant shape to work with... I've some experience working with side lighting like this,,,not to the extreme as this setup,,,but I was pretty sure the early lower branches would of overtaken the grow in a negative way if left unchecked given the way the plants have reacted to the conditions of the intense side lighting...once plants reached a size beyond seedling in this setup the growth I knew would be explosive.

It all worked out

I'm hoping with more indica influence I can grow that single fat main cola 12/12 from seed.
That will be next with BB Silver Cheese

Thank you for that explanation Jammal. It worked very well for you, that is for sure. Supposed if a person were growing in soil or coco and they were to initially plant it a little lower in the pot, leaving room to add more dirt/coco as the branches are trimmed, in order to cover the trimmed areas, they should get new root growth where the branches were trimmed and lower the overall height of the plant. Think it would work?
I'm really looking forward to next grow as well.
Peace, God bless

I don't think it would be a worthwhile experiment, the growth rate is much different in soil or Coco,,,. You also run the risk of stem rot and intially limit the depth of the Taproot....the usual methods for controlling height in soil or Coco are recommended..

IMO the thing I see people do most wrong is not enough light power. Especially with sativa , causing crazy stretching and weak stems, and not even coming close to the plants potential, but it's kinda the norm so it's acceptable or most people don't even realize it...they just don't know,,,

Not really,,,in the given space the common wattage for LED use would be only 1 of these lights or between 50w and 35w per square foot....same for HID. Or slightly less...

Here I'm actually running about 150w per square foot with LED...or 3 times the norm..

The root farm lights are about max brightness for being able to still touch plants without causing light damage, the efficient design of the setup is giving results more like a typical 400w setup.
