Amazing, those are some of the best shots I've ever seen!
very nice work, both of you. stuff leans hard to the Kush side, those don't look at all like any UBC Chemo
I have studied Chemo since its entry into the BC market (Van and Kelowna) for a long long time, since God was still young. (1986->). The only thing about chemo that was harder to control than stable results was stable crossing or any Kind of viable seeds at all.my guess is that Chemo Kush came out of all the crosses the bikers did with the chemo(kimo) cut when they got it at the turn of the 80's/90's
A few weeks ago I was gifted a nice pack of original UBC Kimo x Purple Afghani. This would be a purple kush variety going around BC lowermainland in the 80's, the first weed I ever grew and learned to cash crop.
this is a cool thread and one I'm gonna come back and compare too as I have Kimo x P.afghani growing in veg right now. Kimo with a K because when mark, UBC graduate, brought those clones from the lab in 89/90 and gave them to the Outlaws(sandy) and HA's (Pete and will) , I was sitting right there on the couch. When Sandy filled out the plant tags, he wrote Kimo. I'm sure many other connections to the UBC lab got clones as well at some point. Sandy/pete/will couldn't have been the only ones. The first batch of clones of those plants went to Vancouver island shortly after with pete.
I found the Kimo to be a bit of a mutant once a clone rooted. Would throw abnormaly large, red veined single leaves with minimal or no serrations. A revegged Kimo was even crazier. Lots of mutant in the original Kimo and lots of red in stems, petioles and leaf veins. Very dark foliage as well and developed colour late in flower to the purple/red/black side. I remember growing the first batch of Kimo x P.afghani and how dark they got in flower.
anyhow, I'm rambling LOL when I have some bud shots in a couple months I'll come back and compare.
cool thread, stunning pics !!
i watch your youtube footage from time to time and i like the stuff you, remo and john b are sharing a lot. keep on the good work
