LOS ANGELES (AP) - Scott Weiland's wife said an imbalance of medications for bipolar disorder caused rowdy behaviour that left hotel rooms trashed and led to her arrest for allegedly torching the Velvet Revolver rocker's clothes.

Burbank police said the couple argued Saturday afternoon at the luxury Graciela Hotel, leaving two rooms damaged. Mary Weiland was later arrested for allegedly burning her husband's clothes outside their Toluca Lake home, investigators said.

"The weekend's difficulties were brought on by a reaction to an imbalance in medications used to treat my bipolar disorder," she said in a statement released Tuesday by the couple's spokeswoman, Bryn Bridenthal.

"Reports that we were fighting at the Graciela Hotel are untrue," she said. "Scott was simply trying to help me calm down. I want to make it very clear that he did not hurt me in any way."

"For lack of a better expression, I was unstable and just lost it," she said.

Mary Weiland, 31, was booked for investigation of felony arson vandalism after officers responding to a "female burning clothes" call Saturday night found a trash can full of smoldering clothes, Sgt. Mathew Ferguson said.

The 39-year-old rocker told police his wardrobe was worth $10,000.

"After nearly seven years of marriage I am truly grateful to have a loving husband, drug-free for 3 1/2 years now, who is able to care for me during this challenging time," Weiland said in her statement.

Prosecutors haven't filed arson vandalism charges, the district attorney's office said Wednesday. Police said it would be up to Graciela Hotel officials, who have declined comment, to press for a vandalism prosecution.

Mary Weiland said apologies and payment for damages had been made.

"Payment for the damages to the Graciela Hotel has already been made. The gracious staff and management have accepted our apologies and welcome us back in the future," she said.

But addiction to opiates (which both of them suffered from in the past) can make you trick yourself intothinking things are OK when they really arent.
I know first hand for I too have been clean for about 3 1/2 years now, as well.
So I know how dope can make you act crazy and just loose it.
Plus I'm willing to bet she is on all kinds of addictive legal meds like xanax or pain killers which will make you act just as irratic as heroin would. Especially if your running out.
Because you panic and do crazy shit to get more.
I do agree though, if that was anyone that wasn't famous they'd be locked up, no doubt.lol

What really bugs me is when you see a "HEADLINE: Miss USA blew a Goat and didn't tell the community till after she won", are you fuckin kidding me? We have child molesters amuck, a government amuch, a defficit amuck, etc, etc, etc.....and this is headline news worthy?!?! It only matters because there's people who this shit matters to. Britney can jump off a bridge, Justin can have a heart attache, and Miss USA can be beastial I could care less. Careful what you ask for you just might get it!

I find it so stupid that people worship musicians/athletes/actors, it just goes to show what an abomination modern society has become. Thosands of years ago it was not like this. In ancient times the gladiators (athletes) were slaves kept on cages and only broght out to die in Arenas, Actors were usually homosexuals that loved to dress as women and kiss each other in plays and musicians were usually bums who begged for change in the local taverns. It goes to show how yesterday's profession's of the low-class become high and mighty in the future, so by this logic we can say that a few thousands years from now we will probably be seeing in VH1000 The fabulous life of Janitors, Beggars and Fast Food Technicians, which will be the IT jobs to have.

EDIT: I just realized I misread the 3 1/2 years statement. She meant her husband being drug-free. Same principle still applies tho.

I hear you brother, I used to be T.V. free but that all changed when my girlfriend moved in, compromises had to be made and thus I have television in my home which personally i despise. First off the television is one of the most inefficient appliances there is the ghost load was a thing that was draining a LOT of power from the batteries from my house till I managed to figuere it out, also the DirectTV box is another one I won't even start with. Hate the damn noise it spreads across my the house. (My place is 14x20 with a loft so you can imagine the fucking hassle it is when i am trying to sleep and my girl is watching it).

Television fucks with the head and I hate it, I have been really close to smashing it with a hammer a few times now but i restrain myself.
