Reliable wall fans

Has anybody come across a reliable brand of wall fans? I get a month or two out of mine before the oscillation breaks.

I have some old eco plus fans going strong years and years but the new eco plus are the same design as the others and broke right away.

Air king? I've heard bad about those as well

Do NOT get duraBreeze!.With in 6 months of usage fans start having problems rotating side to side, and will stop completely.Shitty design.

I wonder if you got a bad batch of EcoPlus's?

I have never had a failure yet.

Watching thread as I need two more fans myself and was going to go the EcoPlus route.

Hmmm.

Yeah the dura breeze were the worst 6 months if I was lucky

If I could get in and clean the mechanism I would but I don't think it's meant to be user serviceable on these. Regardless I want to find a solid design that just works like my eco plus fans

As far as I can tell the hurricane fans are eco plus's new offering, I can't find the eco plus branded fans any more

The Doctor is OUT and has moved on...
It seems the EcoPlus fans degrade a bit faster than most...not mechanically, my plastic fan blades seem to warp overtime causing reduced airflow after a few months or so (especially if placed under the lamps--hmmm, could the high intensity light causes plastic fan blades warp?).

That said, I bought about half dozen EcoPlus fans about 3 years (I had to trim the fan blade on each one--removing about 1/2" of the warped blade edge), and today only one is still working (but not very well). Two year life is what I calculate--and those 16" fans sold by Amazon for about $25 or so, is what I use (just replace them every few years....24 months for $25, I can live with that).

Placing order for 2 more fans today, delivery tomorrow or so (gotta love that Amazon Prime thing!).

When I set up my grow room I'll forego oscillating fans and use fixed fans instead. One fan will be placed in each corner of the room. They'll be timed to run one at a time for 3-4 hours each, depending on capability of the timers. One fan will always be running. This will change the air movement without worrying about the one thing that most often fails in fans... the oscillation mechanism. It also provides redundancy should one fan fail.

I would question whoever said bad about Air king.... they are the standard for reliable wall mount fans. I believe some Laskos are made in the same factory, but don't quote me on that.

What I mean by clean isn't disassemble the fan. Get some duster and blow out the motor, then oil the mechanism with some spray lube. Always keep the cages and fan blades clean too

I appreciate all the top notch input.

My quest has come to an end. I was at my hydro store today and the hurricane fans have a "new look same great quality" sticker on them but they actually went back to the old design!

I'll probably be using hurricanes also.

About the lubricant - I would put it on in a separate room and let the fan run for a half hour.

So as not to spray WD-40 on the buds.

I use cheapo LASKO fans from Walmart. So far so good.

Lasko fans have been the best so far,but haven't used any expensive one's yet.The Lasko fan was only about five dollars more,so worth the extra five. This will be my third or fourth grow with the same fan and that is the first time making it past one grow.
