Talk about selection! That's how to find the right pheno quick! Awesome bro.....

I'm along for the ride :)

thanks man ,........ does take a little bit of time and care to make sure each plant is getting direct light, but its a very good way for people short on space, to do decent sized seed selections, the more seeds we plant!!,bigger the chance of finding that magic pheno ...... glad to have you aboard :)

day 25

things are coming along , as you can see the buds are forming beautifully and starting to thicken up............. iv also fallen in love already..... smells haven't even started yet on some of the smaller, less well positioned plants as there buds are not as advanced...... but there is one plant that has extraordinary smell profile, its from the white pie line,is of medium height, has a slender stem, thinner leafs and intermediate internode spacing. and excellent early resin
its sweet and tangy, with a moreish background .... almost like a boiled sweet we have over in Europe called cherry drops, having never sampled the cherry pie clone cant compare smells but its unique and beautiful in my own personal experiences

its not only the profile of the smell its the potency ,its the only plant (so far) that gives off its scent without needing to agitate the bud .... as we all know scents have a habit of developing as the plant matures, plants with neutral smells can develop into something appealing and vice versa ,.. but if this smell does carry thro until harvest ................ i think we already have a keeper :)

my little favorite is the forth pic down

:lurk: Very nice brother...

Very nice man. Sounds like a sick cherry pie dom!

thanks fellas i was thinking the same about that favorite of mine, definitely a cherry'esk smell ........... its hard to leave it alone i keep wanting a sniff of it :)

trick is, when doing selections this way it to reveg as early as possible, so i cant rest on my laurels, as the weeks go on ill probably take cuttings from the plants that please me the most,as a 'plan B' of sorts........just encase the main seedlings dont reveg, which seems to get tougher, the more advanced into the flower period the plant gets !

see you in 7 days :D

interesting, .. looking good so far. is that 25 days into flower or from germination? id avoid revegging unless you have too and take cuttings of them before you flower them. even at this point id take cuts and let them revegg, it will take alot less time than if its fully flowered. that way you dont have to wait for them to reveg. your turn around time will be alot faster and its easier.. takes alot of precious time when you try to reveg a plant that has been flowering for 9-10 weeks. you also have a higher risk of hermying on you because the light cycle going from 18/6 to 12/12 and then back to 18/6 will stress them out. take cuts now and they will reveg by the time they are fully rooted. way less stressfull and less chance of hermies. looking good though. what are the larger plants in the backround? and are you using 2 gallon buckets as containers or am i going crazy? im just trying to wrap my head around your style. your using rockwool but not using tables? are you hand watering them/ do you place each of the rockwool cubes into the buckets with coco or another soiless substrate for the roots to grow into, do you flood and drain or recirculate? hard to tell from your pics. regardless, looking good bro.. Good Luck and keep them pics coming. im interested to see what you find.

I can't wait to see what comes of this. My Bro here justed picked up a pack of White Pie along with 5 other of Relentless" new strains and I'm stoked for when he has room to run them.
He does have six Whitebirds up right now that are scheduled to go into flower. I just saw them this past week and they were all gorgeous plants.

Peace,
KF

hey brother, its 25 days into flower, and i literally haven't got the space to keep 27 cuttings from this seed run, just on the off chance a few may have traits i want, the idea of this method is a fast track to desirable traits so only plants that show me something worth keeping, will be reveged and my 'plan b' taking a cutting from the flowering seedling ..as im going to do with 'my favorite' tomorrow... reveging works allot better in hydro imo, coz of the air to the roots, and the control over nutrients so i have a very high success rate when reveging .......... just if you leave it too long it becomes harder

and i grow in normal buckets from a hardware store, filled with about 2 gallons of granulated rockwool, with no run off, no flushing or anything and just hand water them , always been mindfull not to over water ............ same with my relentless seedlings in the tray.... filled with rockwool, and watered modestly with no run off or flushing or anything and useing nothing but 1.3-1.8 strength 3 part general hydroponics nuts thro the life of the plant ,with no wacky boosters or snake oils ect ect, ... if keeping mothers long term tho, i use a hydro bucket and saucer, so i can flush to stop salt build up ............ as simple as that. always get excellent results so as the old saying gos ............ if it aint broke dont fix it :D

and as for the plants in the room we haveeee

keeper indica blueberry. mental floss, blue cheese, critical hog, blue Buddha, jackonesia, jhonny blaze as my staples

and the larger plants are seedlings from sssdh, chemxsour, blackrose xsourdiesel which i was forced to give long veg time to !

some of those plants are looking good aslo......... so its a packed room ......... just wish i had more space :)

thanks man i cant wait either, always exciting times when in pheno hunting mode, with the genetics involved,im sure me and your bro will find something worthy of keeper status.in a ideal world id grow the seedlings bigger and give them there own pots and give each more room and take cuttings of each plant before i put them into flower............ but space and time are not on my side so .......... gotta fast track for those desirable traits, thennnn keep my fingers crossed they reveg

hopefully ur bro can see this, and get a tiny bit of insight into what he may get

day 32

things are coming along nicely, buds are thickening up and unless something suddenly changes in the next week or so we have 2 phenos that deserve further testing

first we have the 'resin bomb', from the white cookie line, the smell is neutral and not really desirable, but the sheer amount of resin, speed of bud formation, and yeild, means it at least deserves a reveg and a run as a clone......... i like super strong individuals so if it happens to be a day wrecker it could still be a keeper

and we have my little favorite, the smell if anything is becoming more pronounced, a strong intense bitter punch, which devoelops into a really sweet artificial cherry smell ......... really is Delicious......... of course its the next stage were it is truly tested as a reveged clone, grown to full maturity in its own pot

the other plants all have a similar none disscript smell, sort of earthy to bitter but with nothing desirable, so the next week or so i will start culling the most advanced plants . the tallest, with the least amount of resin, with a view to starting the reveg in about 2 weeks

very nice my man. the pheno u keep describing as having a cherry type aroma, is that the one u are taking pics of? bc the pics look very cherry pie like. :D
congrats man. both of those phenos sound awesome. GSC doesnt have an overpowering aroma, but after cure I do get some doughey aroma that smells very nice. real nice daytime smoke.
the cp is the real keeper tho, in my opinion.
keep it up man!

hey man,the first pic is of the kepper from the white cookie line, most resin and fattest buds

the third pic is the cherry pie keeper it absolutely reeks .. really potent smell, the buds are starting to really thicken up now too !

this was the real mission for this run ...... to find a unique scent n hopefully flavor,.. might seem ruthless to discount plants without even a smoke test but im a sativa head at heart

do love exciting flavors and scents tho.......:woohoo:
