Having done with images of crawling about aligning fabric with a glue gun, I did a Joseph, and had a dream.
I swapped the top corner joiners for these
This meant cutting a small hole in my roof, for the 4th leg of the joiner to stick out. My tent was otherwise unaffected. It just looked the same, with a little green bit sticking out of each top corner.
Then I chopped up my new tents frame, in order to to build my metal extension.
Then I chopped the new tent in half, horizontally. I tried to decide which half to keep, based in the zipper location and direction.
Then I slipped the new tents remains, over the extended tubes. Down over the tubes, and some way over the original tent. Which was still stood firm an complete. This was like a 40cm tent above a 200cm tent, that I would then knock through with a big hammer. To make my 240cm room. The negative pressure within this held all the gaps closed, so I had to pry them open to apply my silicone.
Such a build could keep your poles sturdy, and allow construction mid grow. While no sticking is done before the bits are in place. So you know it all fits.
I do wonder why you are running out of space though. It doesn't look like another 40cm is that much use to you. With 240cm, you could stack two crops in there with sufficient training.
