rejoining cut tent canvas back together

I going to modify a cheap 120x120x200 tent to make it taller by 40 to make it 240cm
i got a spare tent to use for the fabric and i can modify the poles for the extra height.
I know sewing is the best option for joining canvas but i don't have a sewing machine i was just wondering if it's been done with some other joining method while still being a strong join.
I will joining at the base of the tent.

Maybe, you can just set the tent frame on a stand 40cm high made of 2 X 2 lumber.
Then cut the bottom out of the tent. Line the new bottom walls made of the lumber
and new floor with material that goes higher than 40cm like 60cm so there's no light
leaks.

A while back before I got a tent I made a wooden frame using 2 X 3 lumber, wood screws
and just stapled black/white plastic film to the wood. Wood sure is stronger than tent poles.

Cheers.

Hey troutman i want to modify it so it still using same type tent material and poles it should look finished to blend with the tent.

Sew it by hand? Maybe even use some other fabric than the spare tent?
No way would i sew by hand even when i'm stoned..and that's pretty much always.
I may buy a small sewing machine i'm not sure yet any other option will probably messy.
as you can see my two meter tent needs more height for future grows.

Cut with overlap, and use a smear of dark coloured silicone. Then got a 4" band of tent material, and go right around using more silicone. So the job is done twice, and the join remains flexible and heat resistant.

Silicone was first used because we needed to glue glass. Things like fish tanks use it. It's not going to peel unless you want it to.

Then mummify the whole thing with gaffer lol

If i was not sewing it then i was thinking the next best way would be to overlap the canvas and join with a silicone that sticks to canvas or maybe hot glue will join it i got one to try on a scrap piece it's not like the join will be holding much weight once it's together.

Wouldn't it be easier to just buy a new tent the size u need?
The maximum height i can go is 240cm any higher and it hits a roof beam.
Buying a tent 240cm high is not easy and i can mod mine reasonably cheap.

I would put a wood paneling or other thin piece of wood between the beams on the inside (fixed to them) then staple the materials to that, maybe with doublesided tape between to create a seal.

true it's important to join the canvas with a good seal to keep it drawing air from the vents.

after this grow i'll mod the tent should be about 6 weeks away then i'll put up some finished shots of it i got some time to try joining some canvas see what works.
