Reflective paint?

I remember reading at og about reflective paint being made from (I think it was) 3 parts white to one part cirron blue. I'm not sure as it was a few years ago I read about it. Does anyone remember by chance what it was? I am looking to use paint over mylar or survival blankets for ease of cleaning.

Thanks in advance if anyone can remember.

I don't remember that thread...but I just tore down all my mylar, and painted everything flat white. Excellent decision.

Cheers,

There used to be a GrowFAQ with reflectivity %'s of different materials covered. It talked about reflective paint and what it was called. Unfortunately the site that hosts the GrowFAQs seems to be down but here's the link:

I believe the FAQ was under growroom efficiency but I'm not positive and not even sure if it was recovered. Take a look and you'll probably find what you're looking for.

all the info you need OG FAQ :woohoo:

I use flat white paint , all raw wood should be painted anyway to avoid mold and mildew growth that can ruin your grow ,,, I suggest washing walls and such with water/bleach solution before painting to kill anything already grow'n in the wood ,,, Paint is 85% with no hot spots and lil heat , I use Kilz flat white base primer , made to kill mold and seal wood , and is water base /clean-up

is the front page of OG FAQ

chk out " My Lil Vege box" thread pics for mini stealth painted days ago

Hope this helps ... peace :joint:

Good find latitude

Personally I'm a fan of panda poly since it has so many uses. However an enclosure of poly can be more costly than paint.

heat moisture and wood = mold and mildew , Like i said , Paint raw wood anyway or you may have a problem down the line , maybe in mid grow ... Oz of prevetion saves OZ's of weed, whole gallon of paint is only $15

I've used mylar for years, and I think you are making the right choice! Paint is the way to go. Much easier to deal with. The best I've seen used is a roofing paint. I believe it cn be had at Home DePot. It's a white polymer and has a reflectivity of over 95%. Numerous growers on OG had used it with great results. If I can find a link, I'll add in here as an edit.

OK, I found one. Here's a link to one that's 98% reflective.

It may not be available in your area, but it will give you an idea of what I'm talking about.
