I think it was 78' we use to get most of our weed from my best friend's brothers stash..it was usually a large stash..and we would just grab a couple of buds..
We thought we were so sly till his brother told us years later he knew every time..and as long as it didn't get out of hand, he didn't care..
Anyway the craziest stuff I remember was this stuff called Rainbow Gold..thinking back now it was probably way over mature..cause it defined couch lock.
then thru about 85 Thai was easy to come by..in Cent Cali you also had the higher priced..Green Bud, Skunk, Humboldt..once I sampled that, I didn't want to return to the mex and all those seeds..

Well, I need an opinion, we all got one... Memorial day I found myself outside grilling, drinking beer, and tokin down,and listining to Dr Hook singing Freakers Ball and Get my rocks off the mountain. I loved the mexi's from the early 70's. planted a lot of the oaxacan, truely lovely flowers. The michoacan laugh weed, at 115 a pound was memorable, remember the first pound of columbian gold, at 435, I almost passed it up, it was gone in an hour. Bought my first house with leb hash sales. But with all those fine buzzes, and even a dealers deep stash, I never had a couple dozen strains, all prime - we live in interesting times. Happy buds y'old farts.

haps, I gotta agree, with the variety we have and the fact that it's always available life is good. I used to hate trying to hook up. I remember some nights in the old days trying like 5 pot dealers and striking out with all of them. And of course right after you hooked up, all the dealers would call you with herb and it was usually better than you just bought, lol. Now next week I'm picking 8 plants and of those 8 there are 7 different varieties. life IS good.

I go back to 64 when I bought my first pound of mexican commercial for $50....harsh as all get out but really got you high...I think my favorites before the seedless crops appeared had to be gold bud Columbian and those big donkey d**ked green Oaxacan buds at about $40 an oz

I was just thining that he other day myself. I came across some seeds from whatever and they were in with stuff from the late 70's (with my head hung low-they were in a box of disco shoes). They were powder really-just threw them away. I tried old seeds last year and they were no good.

They sure have. I remember paying a buck a joint at school skipping 2nd hour to get a buzz on. Now if you want to buy a doobie it's like 5 bucks and you're lucky if it weighs a gram.
Hawaiian Gold Bud was the shit back then.
