Chem 91 x Sour Bubble - Day 26 flowering

Welcome to the jungle....

Densest i've ever packed the space. Can't imagine a room full at that density; maybe some of you can. Not that yield is my goal, but probably going to break some personal bests on this one.

Looking like the younger generation of 4 C91xSB and 3 WB are all male. Still on the early side, but if so 0/7 female would be a bummer, if so, I'm 2 months behind now, my perpetual will have a big gap in it.

That's the risk you run with regs. I thought starting 7 seeds hoping for 2 females was excessive, but I didn't want to risk wasting any further seeds on females I didn't have space to keep.

Definitely going back to my standard "fems only" after this one for a few runs. No hate on those who like regulars, and certainly not hating on the genetics, but with my limited space, it's just not worth risking that amount of time, work, soil, water, nutrients, and light to have 0 bud.

A close up of what is likely some tiny balls, pretty much how they all look:

I could agree more regarding your thoughts on fem beans. For the home tent grower, feminized stock is supreme. I have some reg packs that I’ll probably never pop. It’s stuff I’m really excited about too just don’t have the time/space in a 3x3 tent.

Agreed! Tough on limited space to house and care for 2x as many plants for the first month. But probably the biggest factor for me is never being sure of how many females you get. I can't afford to pop 4 seeds and potentially get anywhere from 0-4 females, makes planning ahead very hard.

Back to the fems for now, but it never takes long for some special regulars to tempt me.

mostly-trimmed WB

still not quite dry enough to smoke, but so close.

Lil chunk of hash
That WB looks fire! Absolutely covered in trichs

Is that scissor hash? Tell me more

I’m thinking of hanging the whole plant this time and doing a dry trim. I mean, I’ll pull the big fans but that’s about it

I’ve seen the silicone brushes for dry trimming but I’m weary

Wet trim was the gold standard for me but I like the idea of just taking the big fans and hanging them upside down

Basically, yes! Finger hash! Old school smeared -off-my-hands style.

I've experimented with every style of trimming/drying. I used to do wet, but now prefer trimming once dry. I can usually just pull the little leaves pretty easily once dry.

#1 and #2 on day 39f. Grams/cubed feet probably best i've ever done, without changing my methods. Cash cropper/commercial dream.

Some #1 close-ups
Smell: Chem smells for sure: garbage, skunk, rotting plants

#2 : Much more leafy, not as much bud, but very interesting. Foxtail structure from the get-go. Extremely bushy in every sense of the word: is basically a cube entirely full of bud and leaf. Taking care not to get mold. Smell is amazing: sweet fruit, with a hint of rotting fruit and coffee/skunk.

And a little surpise... I kept one of the runts

#4, the little plant that could

C91SB#4 day35f (1) - Copy.jpg

It's maybe a quarter of the size and density of the other two, as it had been since early veg. Some runts are worth keeping, this one probably wasnt, unless the bud is way better than the others. Structure more like #2 with the foxtails, but smell more like #1, maybe even stronger. Rotting garbage and skunk.

These two are about 6 weeks old, twice topped. Two Slurriking from InHouse. They are lovely and healthy so far, moderately vigorous, but demonstrating an interesting difference in the fan leaves:

So many people get stuck on defining fan leaf just by width. There are so many other characteristics. The shape of the fan leaf itself is important too. These plants are almost identical otherwise, almost identical in the width of the leaf, but couldnt be more different on the shape. I wouldn't be surprised if the ones with the thicker base end up slightly bushier. We will see.
