Every strain is a bit different so some lightness/darkness in colour or sativa/indica traits will be expected.

Great read - Red... interesting tidbit also, about the bell-shaped mouth inlet giving an optomized intake pressure loss coefficent - Hmmmm, maybe I should saw-off my old trombone bell and duct-tape it to my growtub???

Where did you get it from and what do you guys recommend growing in a small box like this? I was thinking about growing bagseed at first but keep hearing that i won't be able to grow that in a tub like ours? or do these people just not know what they are talking about.

Thinking of buy some seeds online soon, maybe even for my first grow. Thanks for the info guys!

ohh bagseed is straight but the genetics might be suspect, and you will only have a 50% shot at them being female

you can def find better genetics online.. but price goes up as risk goes up right?

I say go for bag seed on your first grow. That way you can make some mistakes.

I'm with NuggyBuds on this one. Yeah you won't know what sex they are, but grow out a bunch and then flower them after as long as you like and see what you come out with. Your first grow alwasy tends to be a rough one because you're not used to what to expect and usually you end up givin' em TOO much love. In the mean time - do the research on what kind of beans you want and pick them out on the seed bay or somewhere and you'll have saved your money to do a fresh start with some good genetics. Yeah, what "Sir Nuggs" & "The Durbs" say... I bought Female seeds 4-packs, and toasted half of them before finally getting a decent plant started... no fault of the seeds, just stupid beginners mistakes! If you got the free seeds, make all your mistakes on them!!

My first post.....Big ups to Red...I have been searching long and hard for a setup like this and thanks to a link from another site (any goons?) i found this place....Anyway I am constructing my box (gonna start germination after Thnxgvg) and I am testing the Fans. I have a 12v DC power supply and 12v DC powered PC fans...hoever I can not get them to start up. I have been twisting the correct pairs together and bonding them with Duct Tape...still nada....do I have to use Electrical tape? no biggie, but I figured this was simple and not sure why the fans are spinning up...I know fans are good cause I tested them before I cut the PC ends off. any ideas?

I dunno about using DC power supplies, but I know you need to turn your homes AC into DC for the fans. Most of us here use an adapter for something that uses a battery(s) of some sort(cordless phones, cd players etc.), you should be able to find something at the dollar store or flea market/thrift store for cheap. They'll say AC some numbers DC some numbers, usually also says input before AC & output before DC.
Also you should get some small wire nuts and electrical tape, pennies compared to what a faulty connection could cost you.

Hello All, Adoption process happened today. A Afgan breed of some kind. Since I have only one, my thought is to veg for a while to get a few clones. I am thinking to cut the center out in a week or so & clone it, then cut a few more when available. I sprouted some bag seed. Have more on order. Heck I should make somethng happen.

I am sad to say that after building a great box from Red design my grow will have to wait for a while. I had ten seeds that I was hoping to get something going and everything went wrong. Put them in a damp paper towel in a plastic baggie zipped it up and put it on top of my DVD player that I left on for one week. I had nothing pop out of it shell. I tried to help some along with trying help open up there shell but no luck.



Don't feel all the great about ordering seeds online. Well if anyone has any ideas on how to get some seeds online and the best way buy doing it let me know. I am totally up for suggestion now.

I forgot to ask, maybe just stress causing the leaf to curl under like that? Had to get hauled 700 miles in a cooler.
Have it sitting under 4-23watt cfl's 6500k, gonna add 2-23watt cfl 3000k in couple of days. Figured I would repot as advised into a 1 gal container. Then switch light.
Any and all advice would be apprecitated!!

There's two methods there. It always works for me. Either way. And at most you could be out $1.00. Good luck in the future man. Even bad seeds that weren't harvested at the right time or pollinated too early or late you should still get at least a 10% germ ratio. Keep in mind they still need some air.

Also, just order off of seedbay. You mail them cash, they mail you your beans that you win. Just pick something cheap - maybe even use the buy it now feature. There's plenty to choose from. I think you can even search by price. They even mail the beans discreetly. (Very stealth I might add) This is also the case of ordering from seedboutique. As long as you use cash, just bundle it up in the middle of your order form. You print out 1 sheet of paper with your order on it and fold it in 3rd's so then you can put the cash in between and use the largest dollar bills you can so you have it as thin as possible. Typically your mailing your payment to the U.K. so it takes about a week to arrive, but they're very quick about getting you taken care of. Plus you get a free pack of seeds with every order! So you can screw up again on the freebie's if need be lol. Sorry - had to add that. You can do it man!

I would probably start topping that baby. As long as it seems to be growing well you could really bush that thing out. Don't let anyone fool you either about topping too early will kill it. Check out our friend GMT's lazy growing method. GMT's Lazy Growing He tops on the first set of true leaves from seed - not even the fans. Look how that thing starts a new chute every time. It's crazy. You'll end up with a jungle! (Excellent if you want to take cuttings!) Good luck buddy!

Ok I ordered some seeds from Seed Boutique, spend about $43.00 today on 14 seeds here is what I got

NRS - Northern Lights 5 X BigBud (10 seeds)

FM4-Northern Light (4 seeds)

I went with these for they are a good strain to grow, or this is what i have seen on places like these. North Lights said is hard strain to kill. I guess I will kill a couple of them

Let me know what you guys think! I put the money in the mail today I guess about 2 weeks from now I should have some seeds. Lets hope custom doesn't get them.
