Recommended Flowering Nutrients

What “Flowering” nutrients have you had the most success with? There are so many different ones out there. Does it depend on strain? I don’t want to buy something that really isn’t going to work or is too hard to work with. I have only been growing a couple years mainly indoor (6 grows max under my belt). I’m mainly asking about flowering nutrients because the soil I use- Fox Farm (Ocean Forest) has enough nutes for veg. IMO. I want to stick to Organics per my preference.

Hey Joe:

Making teas is a fine source of soluble nutrients. Combining 1-3TBSP/gal of guano (Indo., Jam., Budswell) with 1-3Tsp/gal blackstrap molasses is great in bloom. Does "not to hard to work with" remove this as a possibility? The Earth Juice line is very high quality. Fox Farm Big Bloom (I think) is organic and great for consistent fertilization. Top dressing with a high P fertilzer would also work well as a supplement during flowering. I make a compost using food waste, rock phosphate, greensand, and kelp meal. I add this to the soil, and add 1cup/5gal water to perk plants up in flowering. I hope that helps.

I was all spellbound by fox farm's "beastie bloomz", until I realized you could just throw some high P bat guano, some molasses, and some maxicrop or powdered seaweed in a jug and bubble it and have something just as good, just a lot lot lot cheaper

3MB you know I love you man but I have to disagree with only one thing your stating...
I'm talking about EJ, it's shit and very expensive, it stinks and can unbalance, it's very acidic unless you bubble it, the whole line is like 10 bottled, inshort it is a horrible product.

Otherwise I'd say if you want to keep 100%organic the best recipies for nutes are home-made with guanos and tea and humic acids, etc...

If you not fussy about being strictly organic ( and anything in a bottle is not 100% organic IMHO) you should try the PureBlendPro FOR SOIL, it is awesome and if I had to cheat and use anything not homemade this is it.
It's very low in N and quite high in P and K plus the LK component.

Peace

thats what i was gonna recommend, i haven't tried it yet but i am on my next run...except now there is organic pureblend for soil.....i'm not sure if it's organic PBP or just organic PB.

Don't forget some bull kelp. The BEST from the Nth Atlantic Coast of Nova Scotia, Canada.
Heavy concentrations of auxins, cytokinins and gibberellins. :canabis: among other goodies.

My Cupboard..

My Cupboard..

Botanicare Grow, liquid Karma,Maxicrop seaweed,SWEET.FF Tiger, big bloom,Molasses,Alaska 2-1-2 start-up,Dyna-gro Pro-teckt(silica solution).Liquid Budswel. Now obviously these things all have their time and place..and there is a method to the madness. The two products that seem to run out most frequently are the Karma and the Big bloom...these two products are really worth having. The sweet..I'm still on the fence? A friend has used it twice indoors and I've tried it once. He says h's going to drop it..I still have'nt decided. One friend commeted that my buds were very ''sweet'' tasting...I do use alot of Molasses though..so maybe thats the reason..haha.

His posts won't show up because he is in coventry. If he is the last to post, it will show that he posted (which was what TTU was referring to) but the actual post itself will only be visible to the person who is in coventry.

I have bat guano and molasses, to make a tea, just mix with water? I don't know what "bubble it" means. How long should you let it sit before you use it, and should you throw out any leftovers?

Coventry? What the Hell is that?

You can take a gallon jug and some panty hose #2(doulbe them up). Put in 2 tbls of guano, use according to growth phase (N or P) in the panty hose. Add 1 tbls of molasses and bubble. Bubbleing is just a fish air pump with an airstone attached. Lower that in the gallon jug of solution and let it do its thing. Let it bubble for about 24 to 48 hours. Dilute and water in. I always dilute....some don't. I always toss my left overs in my outside plot. organic material and all.

I have a picture in my gallery POMH.

Coventry is like Time Out. You can read and post but no one can see your posts, like you are invisible. Isn't that a hoot?

Gotcha, I have a bubble cloner with an airstone so I know what you are talking about. But it does seem you would only want to use it once...I mean PU, right? stinky??

Question, if you are going to put the leftovers in the pot anyway, why do you need the panyhose? It wouldn't be the same to put it the molasses and guano in water and put the airstone in with it? is that different?

Thanks for the help, doll.

To bubble means to add an air stone or other aerating device to the guano tea mixture to add oxygen. Oxygen is key to a good tea. You are wanting to extract the nutrients from the guanos, castings, etc...but you are also building up a colony of bacteria. If you don't add oxygen to the mix you end up with low oxygen levels and stale water. This type of environment breeds bad bacteria called anaerobic bacteria. The bad bacteria is the root of all sorts of problems that plague the hydro grower. When you add oxygen you create an environment that encourages good bacteria or aerobic bacteria. These good guys help break down the guano's, castings, etc....and also help ward off the bad bacteria.

I know that when I make a tea from guano's, castings, etc...I let it bubble until it starts to get a head to it. After 48 hours or so of brewing/bubbling you will notice that the tea has developed a head to it like a good beer. I usually see the head between 48 to 72 hours, when I do, I know its good-n-ready! You don't have to let it go that long, but I say the longer the better (within reason of course).

No the airstone doesn't stink. I rinse mine off after I use it. Ha that sounded funny.....

I put the left overs in my "outdoor plot" to compost. you could brew without a sock. and pour the organic material in the pots but i would not take the chance of over loading the plants.
