I grew AK around 2004
It's very good yielding and potent,but has a fairly boring flavor.
Good choice for a cash cropper or a beginner but not exactly head stash IMO. Certainly not B-sters though, its quality dank bud.
As for the strain changing, yes pretty much every strain from the 90's is different in some way. Most of the dutch companies don't release the lineage for their strains so its a bit of a mystery how exactly they have changed. Its unfortunate but that's the way it goes. Has he inbred the AK line? Has he outcrossed it? Has he used different parents from the original seed stock? Who knows? I will say that a lot of the early fame of AK47 can be attributed to magazines like high times printing pictures and stories about it and not necessarily from people getting a bag of it and thinking it was the greatest pot ever.
