Belize is right up 'Hurricane Alley'.......so you had better find a place there that can withstand a category 5 Hurricane to grow in.

Gotta agree with that. Uncle had a place down on the Keys, looked normal until you realized the walls were nearly a meter thick. Make your bunker look pretty and the neighbors will never know it's there until yours is the only house that doesn't blow away.

Florida, Louisiana and the Carolinas are prone to more and worse hurricanes than Belize. So, don't base your decision on that factor alone.
