I'm trying to get my closet setup wrapped up, but temperatures continue to be an on-going battle.
I have a SJ DR60 w/250w HPS. I use a 400+cfm 6in inline fan w/ a 6" Phat Filter (tent is 2x2x4, this fan is overkill, as intended). The filter is in the tent, the exhaust goes into my attic where the fan is located (had to, it's a loud fugger).
At lights on, I set my A/C at 74 or 75, depending. The ventilation in that bedroom is not the greatest, and even with the closet doors open, the ambient air in there is more around 77-78. That puts the temp in the tent at ~81-82 range, which is certainly higher than ideal.
As stated, I want to finish up the closet, which includes installing locking doors, which will, of course, make temps in the closet even higher!
So the thought struck me that if the CLOSET had an a/c vent, my problems would be over!! Set the house a/c at 75, and if it has a vent in the closet, the closet should get nice and COOOOOOLD by the time the rest of the house reaches 75.
Ideally, what I would like to do is SPLIT the duct that exhausts into that room, and run another line of ducting that dumps into the closet. Obviously, I can't call my a/c dude to do this for me. So the question is, how difficult is it to do, and what is involved?
If a SPLIT is to difficult, or not advisable, I'd be willing to MOVE the duct to the closet, which really shouldn't be that big of a deal, I figure. If the duct is too short, I'm sure I could splice on some additional ducting without any major issue.
I'm hoping that the answer is SIMPLE, and that the only problem will be squeezing into the tiny crawlspace that some sick bastard decided should serve as my attic.
Any thoughts, tips, pointers, or links to online references will be much appreciated.
