Rapid Yellowing - Day 35 Flower

Relax all,the yellowing of the leaves is normal during flowering. The yellowing is a nitrogen deficiency. Let the plant drain out all the nitrogen. Nitrogen promotes leafy growth,it is higher levels of p+k you want the plant to have. Day 35 is a good start for that to occur. Especially when it comes to indica and
indica dom plants. As the plant`s buds mature it will shake off the really damaged leaves. You will find that really damaged leaves will come right off.
Check your buds and you will notice they are still developing. As leaves become more and more damaged you can take them out and it will open up more light to buds.

Thanks hempluvr, and i grow full on organic, all the way, and I have noticed that my plants begin to yellow at around week 35 or so....I have better budswell after my plants begin to yellow and disgard those age-old fan leaves!!!! Hollaachu!!!!

Update:

Picked up a Combo PH/PPM pen and calibration fluid today.
As soon as I got home I calibrated it and tested my tap water.

:yoinks:
pH of 8.2 and 600+ PPMs!

So I immediately ran out and bought a ton of 1 gallon bottles of RO water.
Flushed each container with 2 gal of water with runoff pH at 6.7-7.0 and PPM's around 600.

Topped them off with a little bit of full strength nute mix, no CalMag.

They're back in the tent and I'll be watching them closely. :drum:
I figure either way the flush is probably good for them.

Thanks for all the feedback so far!

Your plants have burnt tips, are curling upwards and even newer growth is frying/dieing off. This is not just normal at 40ish days to have that kind of bud formation, hair coloration and cloudy trichs. Have you done a runnoff test? You do realize that organics only show about half the ppms on an EC or TDS meter as they are not salt based. Pull all the fans that are dying off the plant. There is plenty green on the buds to photosynthesize. Which headband? East coast Soma or 707? I think the heavy feedings and high ph w heavy tap water just pushed em past their limit. Flush for the next 2-3 weeks til everything falls off and you'll be good to go. 1.5 should of been transplanted into a 3 or even 5g before blooming. Oh well, next time!

Do you recommend adding any N this late in the game?

No I would not add anything. Yellowing is perfectly normal. Yes, you may have had a Nitrogen deficiency sooner, but I dont know too much about this strain. I think it looks good when a plant yellows at the end. Id flush it real good once. Then next Id maybe flush again then water with a liquid nute at 1/4 strengh. Its best to go extra light because if you go heavy, you might not be able to fix it. Below is a picture of a plant yellowing at the end of its life cycle.

Quick update;

Things seem to have stabilized after the flush + feed. Certainly haven't got any worse yet.
Will continue to keep a close eye on them.

I just chopped my deep chunk x sc bluesky at day 35 in dwc and it had like no fans left and was prety ripe, btw said strain yields crap, but it could taste ok

Any strain at 35 days will yield crap...and not taste close to what it should..Did you pick the fan leaves off?

Max0r, in my experience every method of growing has it's pros and cons.

When i grew soil i noticed that clones/veg plants/seedlings all were very concerned about their potting size. I thought it was a deficiency at first but the plant would just be unhappy in a small container.

When Clones started to turn yellow it was time for them to come out of the solos cups, same with the solo cups to 8" pots. I always swapped to 3-5Gal buckets for flower. It just ensures that the plant has enough root space to grow to it's potential and not be fussy.

BUT, while i was doign research i noticed that some people were able to keep certain strains in smaller containers without ever having these issues. Could be a combination of nature and genetics.

I totally agree.

I don't think there's any question that the plants are rootbound.
Next time will be 3-5gal MINIMUM.

The general consensus seems to be that it is a little late to transplant up.
Anyone care to agree/disagree?
