looks like a fun project for sure cant wait for the pheno testing

It is a fun project from a start.

Real breeding means a selection of good ones from a big amount of pretenders.

In my case there was no big statistics but a kind of selection was made due to circumstances.

Three years back I was asked if I may provide a pollen to pollinate a good female plant.

It was White_Russian grown in growbox of friends of friend of mine in another part of the city.

Their WR was a dissolute female with trend to permanent autoflowering she tried to started right after preflowering.



Fast and strong, short and bushy. She was cloned and harvested many times later.

That time I had bonsai-dad that was grown for training in bonsai-tech from a clone taken from a plant grown from a seedling.

Strain K2 PRICE: € 62,50 (/ten seeds), GROWI SEEDS AMSTERDAM BV.

I took off two clones and flowered them right after full rooting.

We counted the cloning dates correct and the pollen was ready just in time. It was a week to start the males flowering and in two-three days they started to dust.



Next was drama... The plant was destroyed in my grow-friends' divorce scandal.

Only four seeds were saved and were sent to me with our mutual friend.

He was out of focus and the seeds were accidentally washed in washing machine in jeans pocket in ziplock.

After almost two years of shelf life in the fridge at 8C (47F) two of them were sprouted.

The stronger one was top cloned twice and four side clones were taken.

Wasn't it the real revival selection!?

Three of them are now the she-males I posted about.

Two others are in female flowering. They are already pollinated twice and waiting for more.

The part that was grown from seedling is now in flowering in the growbox of my grow-girlfriend the WR female supplier.

Four weeks under daily CS 50ppm spray was taken to dry pistils, to show the balls and to start dusting.

,, if ladyboy pollen is anything like masculine pollen..

I am the true observer of the significant difference in timings and shapes of flowers between father and child..

i work mostly with clone only strains going around socal ogs chems bubbas and the like making them available in seed through fem s-1's fem crosses and the more time consuming out and back crossing over a few generations. the sts i will probably stop using at some point when i have my ionized silver dialed in and find what is the absolute best method but like ga3 sts is far less dangerous/toxic than what you hear on cannabis forums they make it sound like plague lol. my ppms of my own stuff are now at 56ppm im going to see how high it will actually go the fluid is a brown color like yours. i know at some point if the concentration is too high it will severely stress or kill the plant but i still want to know what is the optimal ppm that can be used which reverses in less applications. there is much bad advice regarding this subject your one of the few who knows what he is doing regarding making fems this way.
 
in my experience yes they dont have stalks like true males. more like a bud of male balls. basically yours look the same as mine. ga3 is a real pain it works to but the plant stretches to the moon one way or another silver is the best method.
 
here is some extra info about storage for ionized silver storage i have read glass is best as it does not build up static charges which degrade the solution also in the dark as light also degrades the solution i store mine in canning jars.

I do this way from the start.
Nevertheless CS slowly degrades with time.

CS stored in a closed green glass bottle in a dark place at the room temp was previously 52ppm.
After first ten days it degrades down to 45ppm.
After next ten days it is 41ppm.

 
yes i have noticed this to what i do is 'recharge' the solution by running it for a couple hours and then restraining through coffee filters the ppms come up again real fast. i have one batch at 61ppm and another at 56ppm i will see how much the ppms drop in a week or so. i store in clear jars but there in the dark amber or green like you have is even better. we have the same ppm meter not the best but works.

My three SK ladyboys are still in flowering and producing a pollen.



Last time I collected the pollen three days back. Today's yield is big.

I do processing the pollen like a dry sift kief.

First virgin grade goes from fine soft sifting of the whole flowers.



Second grade starts from crumbling through the coarse 800 mcr strainer and the results go through fine 200 mcr sift.



Second grade is bigger in amount and a little greener.

Both grades raked on a glass and placed into a warm and dry place for a day or two, next go into vial to keep in a fridge.



I've read about this treatment in a general agricultural notes.

I'd like to know your opinion on NPKMgCaS.. profile to improve CS-induced male pollen production from females,

I was just looking for info on silica and this link claims:

Soluble silicon enhances metabolic functions and improves pollen fertility, fruit and flower count.
I am making some CS now and gave it a filter earlier and I'm re-brewing it now. I also clean the electrodes when they build up. The plant I will be spraying has had silica added in the form of DE (diatomaceous earth)

Thanks again for sharing. Sadly I only have an EC meter that measures in .1 increments so it's not accurate enough, but it's looking good so far :wave:

I never thought silicon may be involved in plants nutrition care.
Fortunately my troubles about a pollen production were groundless.

The same may be said about dense clustering of flowers,
it doesn't make problems and in opposite it is very suitable for reaping,
because stalkless flowers can hardly drop the pollen by itselves even when overripe.
Less waste -more yield.

SK ladies are obviously pregnant.

 
silicate also generally strengthens the plant the foliage in particular becomes tougher. the diatamatious earth is what i sometimes use it kills most insects as well. good to know silicone is involved in healthy pollen in general if your plant gets everything it needs pollen and seeds will be healthy.

Daily yield is smaller but still is of actual amount. The bigger (left) was reaped yesterday+day before, the smaller is today's yield.

I've pollinated my two SK ladies several times, gifted a lot to my grow-friends and still have 2+ cc in a fridge.

i wonder how many microns in size the larger undesirable silver particles are if they could be effectively removed the solution would hold its ppm longer in storage i would think. the coffee filter strainings help but there must be a better way.
Today in 4 days after last observation I filtered CS from the green bottle. Coffee filter caught black CS sediment. CS ppm is now 45ppm.



Will you post your CS ppm dynamics to compare please. I suppose coffee filter is probably quite enough if it will go this way.
 
do you mean my ppm after sitting for a few days? i will check and post my results. so you store in the fridge i use to do that but the pollen does not last real long now i store in the freezer i put small amounts of pollen in individual baggies or wax paper and seal them in containers with silicate this way i can pull out a baggie use it up without defrosting all the pollen which attracts moisture and reduces viability. some people get 2 year plus viability this way.
 
ok so i checked i have to batches currently in large canning jars they were finished on 3/21 one was at 55 ppm and one had a reading of 58ppm here are my current readings
55ppm down to 51ppm and the 58ppm down to 55ppm. so a loss of only 3 or 4 ppm over 7 days.

Temperature can play a part in the readings you get. For such relatively fine differences, perhaps that could explain your fluctuation, jump?

The measured EC values at various temperatures need to be reported as corresponding to a standard temperature because EC is dependent on temperature.

Very possible, last week we had considerable changes in temp outside. Another possibility is my TDS-meter is not perfect and reading of 41ppm was an error.

Before I started my own CS session I was looking for the info about CS shelf life.
I found nothing except "medical" lies, questions and assumptions,
for example here some quotes from CS-thread by PhenoMenal -

Make sure you use freshly-created colloidal silver, never use old batches.
It was said right about STS but CS has a long shelf-life in a light-proof pack.
... a fresh strong batch is better than a weak old batch that's deteriorated into silver oxide rust eheh :)...
... I'm curious as to how long the solution is good for, before it turns into silver oxide? ...
... I'm not sure exactly about the longevity of colloidal silver, ... it's almost irrelevant how long it lasts :)

I think the true documented observation on CS ppm dynamics will make it clear and provide a real info for the community.
