Quest for the odorless grow...

Mr~Scrog, those vaportronics have quite a following on here. Most use the neutral smell. Rez has stated they work for him. Best of luck to you and BTW...welcome IC Mag. Stay safe.

Sorry, was just telling how it is. If you look what O3 does, you'll notice that it binds to the cellular structure of organisms and makes it so those cells can no longer divide or in more simple terms, grow.

I said my peace and if you want to use something that is potentially harmful, go for it, thats not my decision.

From wikipedia:
There is a great deal of evidence to show that high concentrations (ppm) of ozone, created by high concentrations of pollution and daylight UV rays at the earth's surface, can harm lung function and irritate the respiratory system.[16][23] A connection has also been shown to exist between increased ozone caused by thunderstorms and hospital admissions of asthma sufferers.[24] Air quality guidelines such as those from the World Health Organization are based on detailed studies of what levels can cause measurable health effects.

Heres the link Ozone - Wikipedia

Ahh look at that, someone stated an actual fact about ozone, "TOO MUCH" isn't healthy. Thank you smelltheflowers,.. and I do
Sorry but just because someone says something does not make it true, nor do I adopt the theory that false facts given in an attempt to help should be left alone to mislead other readers. Seriously, to anyone who thinks ozone is going to kill you in your sleep you need to read some facts on the topic. I don't even have to have used one to know better then that outlandish statment.

Thanks Mr. Nevermind, :headbange you showed me something new. Not sure if I buy it's abilities for that cheap a price but ill look into it,.... have you used one? If so on how many plants and how well did it work?

First off, you are welcome. Secondly, i do have the vapatronic unit in my flower room. I have up to 40 plants at a time in that room, including Sour D which is a reeker, and you cant smell a thing! not the pot smell, not even the vaportek smell. If you can smell your unit you got it turned up to high, lower it till you dont smell anything , the pot or the unit. They cover 10,000 cu feet and they do work!

Plus if you have neighbors you dont want to be seen lugging up some big ass carbon filter and bags of carbon to fill it up. The unit is maybe 6 inches and fits in your hand, not as obvious as a carbon filter. it runs off a battery so you dont use any extra power. Hell you can get 2 of them for less than $100 bucks ( including disks) and cover 20,000 cu feet and wont use any extra power, lets see a carbon filter do that for less than 100 bucks. Plus i been in alot of rooms with carbon filters , though the smell isnt as strong you can still smell pot. With the vaportek you sont smell anything but fresh air. Hope that helps

Wow,.. that's an hell of endorsement Nevermind. I might have to try one for the price, tks. Mr Cell,.. I've read the link on ozone but that's a very hypochondriac type thing to look up. The amount of ozone generated from a OZN-Jr like I spoke of isn't going to cause the kind of damage it would if I were somehow magically transferred into our earths upper atmosphere. Sorry to say I ain't ever been THAT high :)

For the price and area treated it cant be beat. Alot of people get the Vaprortek optimum 4000 which treats 20,000 cu feet , runs on electricity and the refils are like $50 a month and the unit costs $170 if lucky with no refils. You can get 2 vaportronics and 10 disks for lesss than $100 and treat an area the same size ( 20,000 cu feet) for $70 less. Plus the refils for the vapatronic are only like 2 buks each. So odor control will cost you maybe $4 a month as opposed to $50 for each refil for larger unit

carbon filters only do so much if you really want no odor get a ozone generater or a vapoutek .

strain that dont smell ..well im growing great white shark . that doesnt smell that much and with my uvonair 3000 there is NO SMELL !

other strain "exclude" skunks ... skunks stink .

I'm happy to see that your looking at other alternatives.

Maybe you don't understand that your ozone generator will be producing ozone in a closed environment. This will cause the air in that environment to have a very high PPM, which is dangerous. If you read my quote, you would notice that there is a correlation between asthma suffers and lighting storms that cause ozone. Most of the earths ozone is in the upper atmosphere; however, your ozone generator will be producing a large quantity of it and again I say, its dangerous for you and you plants.

I'm not trying to crush your dreams or talk down to you; I genuinely want to help you and prevent you from causing harm to yourself or potentially others.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone in this thread, it will be very helpful to me during my first grow.

my ozone geny is on timed and the main fan cuts in and removes the air every 15 minutes or when the temp reaches higher than 82 degrees (cooling stat) ... there is safe levels of ozone in there ... ive got ozone test badges ... thnx for your heads up but it's fine

...Facts as in ozone dissipates in 30 minutes on average...

It can't dissipate if it is in a closed space such as a closet. That number is probably based on being a large room with many other contributing factors that cause it to dissipate.

my space is 1.9m wide 1.7 m tall and 0.9m deep ... you need a out vent for any growing ! even if you use co2 you ned to expell bad air /oxygen ,the ozone goes with it . ozone particles latch on to air particles ... remove the air removes the ozone : )

and my grow room is AIR TIGHT trust me lol ... back drafted intake vents
6" outtake vent

even veg room is AIR TIGHT

I learned the true power of the Vaportek when I visited a friends. Him and his girl were chain smoking cigarettes and we were all smoking the crap out of some pot and there was NO smell. The room we were in was relatively small so I was very surprised.
We bought a couple of these units the next day. You can get them cheapest here:

Does the Vaportech unit just go somewhere close to the grow? If I had a cab in a room in the upstairs, I would just mount it in that room or in the house somewhere else...right?
