Quality in Holland

My Dutch friend recently came back to the states to visit and he said a few things that got me curious.

He said the bud in holland is so good that it doesn't turn your eyes red or give you the munchies. Is that really true? I actually like having the munchies.

I was actually under the impression after spending much time at this site, that quality depends on the grower/strain, not the place. Though I can see how Holland would definitely have the upper hand in producing all of the kick ass stuff.

Later on we smoked a clear joint with tobacco and bud in it. First spliff I ever had. I guess thats how they do it there? I don't like tobacco much, it makes my lungs feel sad.

Hehe, maybe he had access to better bud than you guys usually get. Could be. Another thing is, maybe its far end of the spectrum strain-wise from your nomal toke.

In souther cali, we never have a problem with dankness, or variety. Constant flow of beautiful nuggets.

right now I think the luckiest people live in holland and california. Both places have become established areas of quality bud flow.
A lot of people argue their stuff will always be better there and on average, its a valid statement.
People will pay extra around here if they are told its "Cali Bud" go figure. Half of my interest in weed lies within the strain variety, smell and taste of the bud. The other half, well, thats obvious.
Seriously, sometimes I think that if that father of genetics, Gregor Mendell would have founded genetics through propogating and breeding marijuana as opposed to peas, this world would be a safer place.

See around here its a balance of the quality and price. The best buds, like fresh homegrown, superdanks/coverd in trichs, is like 10-13 dollars a gram. It can go up to 15-17 a g if it gets dry, like in the chistmas holiday, but for the most part its been stayin pretty low lately.

Down here prices are fairly established.

1 Gram of Brickweed goes for $6
A Dimebag of Brickweed goes for $13
The good stuff stands at $20 for 1 gram.

OneWingedImp $10 - $13 for a gram of high quality bud is a really good price for the custumer bad for the grower hehe. It must be very abundant for it to be selling for so low down here we make a killing at $20 per gram.

Well...there is some good smokes and there is some real shitty smokes too...and in my opinion...you can grow better stuff by yourself...yes, many people in europe like to mix weed with the tobacco...

In holland you can choose your strain and you pay eather for quality or for quantity.
Northern lights cost 5euros and super silver haze cost 12euros a gram two years ago.


These are prices and qualities of which I can only dream in my home country.
A few years ago it was just expensive but we got nice buds.
Today its only SHIT, some basilicum like stuff without trichomes.
You can take it or leave it and nobody knows the strain of this stuff it is just weed.
Almost everytime its an indica dominant strain selected on highest yield.

What I also noticed that most cheeseheads dont have a clue about weed because they can buy it everywhere.
Of course what he said isnt true.

Mixing weed with tobacco is a bad habit all over europe, I think it comes from smoking hash.
You should only do it when you are a tobacco smoker otherwise you could get sick.
On the other hand you cant have a fat joint of real potent stuff without getting too wasted when you smoke weed only.

well i heard that alot of bud in holland isn't what they say it is anyway. the coffeyshops do not have to give the correct name for the weed. when i went to amsterdam it was obvious that a few types of buds were all the same strains with different names.

me and my friend also noticed we didnt get the munchies atall, but to us this wasn't a good thing because we felt weird smoking so much and not even getting hungry.

but the not getting hungry couldn't have been the quality of the bud because they had bad quality bud aswell, its just alot cheap. there was even some seeded jamaican bud...

but the quality and if its indica or sativa is allways matching the price.
