fuckin things are great but that other piece is so fresh. SO what do you do for work man considering how flooded the market is and the lack of design jobs???
My situation is rather unique as I appeal to the European market when the exchange rate is in their favor. Win-win as they evade VAT and I'm sittin' pretty with their rates. I'm specialized in photo retouching for fashion, nothing stops the nut jobs at D&G, LV, etc. from dropping coin on their ad campaigns.
I don't have a clue of what the stuff looks like that you say you're posting, as it doesn't show up on my end. What needs to be done to fix that? Try imagehost.org, it's simple.
No formal art education. Just tinkering since childhood lead to a good skill set.
I've been into web and graphic design about 7 years. Transitioning towards being a studio photographer now though, a lot more money in it and less hassle.
ive been a painter for probably 5 years or so now.
realized awhile back that there is no money in painting. currently going to school for a bachelors in graphic design, although I'm not sure if ill continue.
I really want be able to kick back all day chill with my ladies and do art, but finding means of making money doing so have turned out to be quite hard.
Other than the obvious, not much to suggest. Shit's gettin' tight for everyone everywhere, no matter the profession.
That's all I dream of too, but I want to own everything and not stare at plastic money.
I got my start in web design by approaching local businesses without websites, then moved onto redesigns of existing sites and freelance by word of mouth took over from there. Graphic design itself is a difficult market to penetrate on good circumstances. So if not for a career maybe you should stick with it for personal value and enjoyment.
Think long term. If there's any kind of bubble market form you'll be at the ready. Think of all the renewable energy companies that will need websites and corporate identity for example...
As shit continues to hit the fan you'll see desperation on everyone's behalf. Making small amounts of money (under $100,000) look legit is easy. Go buy a foreclosure (must be bought in cash), sit on it for 2 years and profit. I'll stop fucking your mind up with dollar signs.
haha nah
its cool
im just concerned with the fact that ill be approximately 80,000 in "debt" after school. not a real issue cause obviously ill make my money growing but im worried itll take a lot longer to even make 80,000 doing design for anything. like if it'll actually be worth it ya know! thats a lot of money.
