Well mate, we have tried banning and binning all political posts for years, but I found that it just led to so many members getting pissed off at us and leaving or trolling the site......so about 9 months ago I started to allow political discussion only in the Tokers Den, but of course passions fly and I need to closely monitor it to try and keep the ad hominem attacks minimal and the flow of the debate constant, basically trying to get everyone to understand that yes they can talk politics so long as they are civil about it and respectful to other members views, no matter how radical they may seem.....

It has led to some thoroughly interesting threads/posts, so long as I keep trying to keep the members in-line and pop a post or two in their to remind them of the rules of engagement it seems to work most of the time.

I reckon that it is important for members to be able to engage on such topics in such a way that they actually start learning how to 'join the dots' and gain a more rounded view of world politics and what might really be going on outside of the main-stream-media's obviously bias views on current events....

Sadly,this is very true.The only problem is that pay rose for the people who already have more than they could ever spend.

This is among the numerous reasons that I cannot vote Republican...and why I always wonder why people who are not insanely rich do.

I don't have a problem with people who are wealthy,just with a party whose sole purpose is to enrich them further at the expense of those who barely scrape by.

Yes, Bozo, many persons left the Dem Party after 2016.

But it had little to do with joining the Rs. It (mostly) had everything to do with diminished space of difference where corporate sponsorship and related coddling between the 2 primary parties was concerned; both the DNC and RNC are sold out to the Corporate Oligarchs who run the Country indirectly, and HRCs and the DNC's dishonesty and cheating during the primary was a final straw for many who saw any satisfaction in affiliation with the DNC.

I was there, I partook, I was temporarily a Dem for caucusing sake, just as I'd been a temporary R for Ron Paul's benefit years ago, and the abandonment of the DNC by Millennials, as well as older voters with more idealistic vision, & a heavy dose of disgust toward the real State of the Union, drove the departure. The Mueller investigation has yet to release it's findings on US citizens colluding with Russia. So there's no basis to claim the investigation has come up empty. The Mueller team speaks through indictments. First they have to lay down the case that the Russian state interfered in the election. Then with that foundation, they can build a conspiracy case by proceeding to show that US citizens worked to help the Russian effort.
