Put girls in dark for 48 hours before chop???

What do you guys & gals think, I have 2 SCROGED girls at day 60, I have scoped them and they are ready. Should I put them in the dark for a couple of days or just chop when I'm ready. Does it give them more punch or will I notice no difference?

Peak of thc levels in plant were reported tested around 6 am, right before sunrise. This is where this came from, you should wait the extra days because your about to wait 3+ weeks to dry and cure it anyway... but its your bud. I think I heard about the buds becoming more swollen this way or something. I always water-starve them at the end once flushing has been done, why not right?

I never seen anyone actually do it. Does it make a difference, who knows. I think its a waste of time to put em in the dark for 2 days , maybe Im just ole fashion. I wish there was a cut and dry answer to this , has anyone proven it one way or the other ? Chime in and put this to rest.

More do it than say. I have learned probably over 100 things unique to my knowledge of growing cannabis. I can only confirm about 20 of them probably. Whats the harm? I used the dark and got someone else to their last round. Try PM'ing someone to ask if that kind of deal works. Check out the old thread and find a user who is still active, thats what I always do.

OK this is what I know about the theory

Basically when the lights are off, the plants push all the sugars and starches back into root area, when lights are on, it migrates back up into the flowers and stalks of teh plants. These starches are harsh, so by leaving them in the dark, you force plant to get rid of alot of clorophyl from itself, and thus making a smoother smoke.

They have been in the dark for 2 days I will chop tonight. I figered it couldn't hurt and may help so what the hell.

What I like to do is chop em before the lights come on while everything is still in the root zone this way you dont have to leave em in the dark.....Arjan says to leave em in the dark for the whole last week... I guess he would know more about it than me....Peace

i do it. bog suggested to do it because he said that the plant will produce more resin in a last ditch effort to survive. i have never done a side by side test but i do it. my ladies always turn out resinous and tasty. hey, if you have ever seen a picture of bogs buds then you would probably take his advice too. bog has an article in the fall issue of treating yourself magazine where he advises this and also describes his double potting method, which i also have had great results with.

I chopped tonight and they were sticky as hell, may have been that way anyhow but I think I will keep doing it. After waiting 60 days, a couple more wont hurt and could help.

i'll have to try this, does anyone know if it works better with certain kinds of growing i.e. sog, scrog, hydro, soil, ect...
