Anybody grown Bluemoonshine and Grand daddy/eckle?
I would put 100.00 down says these norcal purps have DJ's genetics.(or DJ took norcal's)
The smell/color/taste is dead on the same.
If you have smoked or grown erckle/gdp then you know the smell I'm talking about and it can't be mistaken.
I would call it a sweet kush smell.
I will post some pics when I get a chance and you can see they are very,VERY similar plants.

thanks E........i hear that the MPurps is the superstar of norcal purple........then Urk......then GDP........(flavor and stone being the criteria).......im sure some cats have some individual purple gems......but i think thats the story as far as the widespread purple NCal cuts.......purps has also been on my short list ever since i read JKings take on her........if a genie asked me to pick one unknown strain to try: purps.......of course, she might suck, never know!

#1 Mendo Purp's
#2 ? I would say get Purple Urkle and try for Granddaddy Purple.
I will enjoy watching youre skill's at work. I love looking at youre Avatar the color's make that Nugg look awesome, but that nugg is aweosme looking anyway you want to look at it.lol...
I have a small wanted list and it includes Mendo Purp's, Purple urkle or Granddaddy Purple. I only want just 1 of those but would take 2..lol...

WOW! Some Killer Purple Natefrog. Sux that you don't like it and it's lacking in potency and got a Metalic taste. I would keep that around and see if i couldn't breed something into it and make it stronger and help the taste, Just to dam pretty Purple not too.
Keep it Natefrog and just start a small project trying to make it more potent and change taste for the better. I would love to have her, i would try several different things to change potency and taste.... way to go.....

I grew those and had awsome colors like yours but was like smoking mexi brick.
Makes for a great picture though.

GDP is urkle crossed with big bud or so I have read. My guess (and this is purely speculation :wink: ) is that it was done in an effort to increase yield and probably just make a more overall manageable plant as urkle is a bit of work to grow. Completely worth it tho no doubt there if youve had the pleasure of smokin this shit.

Def. go for the urkle and the mendo purps as your first two choices if it were me.

all purple sucks. unless its that purple kush you know will blow you up. ive ran through lots of purples and they're all lame. nice looking plants for an outdoor garden though.

purple to me lacks high, and always has that same purple taste. weak.

I just finished the Purple Cream very unimpreesed.
Mothers in the trash.
I like urkle way better.
P cream tastes more like GDP with less flavor and less potentcy.
And less chrystal production.
Next to my other strains.
This one looks sad.Not to mention vegged for like 2 months and it still yielded like crap.
I like Urkle but not really the urkle crosses.
I am going to be trying some Urkle x Deep Chunk if I'm lucky.
That should be a good urkle cross.
Here are a few buds from the P cream.

Man, sorry to read. Wish I could'a told ya' a while back that those are junk. Same with the Royal Purple line... SSH/Creme Sodica cross.

A lot of the purps up there are junk, minus the elusive Purple Indica cut, Purple Kush cut [not the Kyle Kushman shit, his was just a "Pink haired indica/kush plant crossed with Northern Lights/Hashplant and then inbred".], Purple Urkle and so on [ya' know... tha actually potent purples worth keeping..]

Royal Purple is another one to watch out for, pretty much all I meant.
