Wurd! haha

lookin good jaws! she looks happy with the trim. She is a different bird for sure. My first couple runs in soil looked like your pics and durning my last run i ran her hydro and she looked much different. in veg they were in e&F and I used a 400 mh on a mover covering 6'. You would not believe it was the same plant aside from the leaf shape comp to the soil plants that got stationary light. The node spacing went totally diff and she got all lanky on me. I think it's from the light mover giving less intese light and they stretched but I'm not 100% sure. I'm sure the hydro helped em veg way faster too. The pic on my thread of big mama is one of these lankier ones.

I have heard from an experieced urkle grower lately that uses low wattage floros in veg (about 80 watts per 4x4 tray). I guess what I'm gettin at is maybe the high light levels puts her in turbo bush mode and a lil less light may help her grow taller some with a more reasonable node spacing :chin:

they look good in any case and I think you're gonna do well with her :woohoo:

peace

hello gro :joint:
most excellent point my friend, i have been hopeing for an urkle like yours but i'm thinking i'm going to end up with a plants thats kinda inbetween yours and garlics.....garlic is runing his in soil but he did have problems that difinitly hurt his plants growth and yield.....and then yours being grown in hydro under a moving light and with the quick but lanky vegg cycle, is more then likely why you got a VERY tall urkle pheno........to sum it up yours is grown in hydro under a moveing light with very little vegg, garlic's is grown in soil "I THINK LITTLE VEGG AS WELL" under a stationary light with some what heavy problems...

hummm so if i grow mine in soil with a very long vegg cycle under a stationary light and with NO problems, then i should come out with a medium sized plant with very sticky purple bud :yoinks: :yoinks: and a fairly decent yield RIGHT RIGHT :yoinks: :yoinks: ..hahaha well it sounds good to me...
sweeet :joint:

P.S. ahhh ya hughie i got my soil and ferts perfect i think, what i need to work on is my light X space...if i can get more watts per square foot then i'm in BUD LAND for sure :chin:

Yeah I think so bro... I got a lanky run from the moving light and being in hydro for sure. They did get 50 days veg in hydro which is not a short veg for dro tho.... :joint:

Very good point I also think that the blue spectrum from a MH lamp will do it too. The growth I get from a 250 MH is pretty gnarley man. Seems like back when I vegged her under a 400 HPS I had much more space between nodes.

Man Jaws thats a awesome plant, you could clone the hell out of her and and not even notice. I agree with what gronut said about turbo bushs with lots of light, maybe I should give the urkle a go :chin:

I am going to love to sit back and watch in amazement your monsters flower. Here is a smaller T.W. clone at 39 days 12/12.

hello friends :joint:
ok sooooooo its in agreement that the urkles in vegg will do better under MH instead of HPS????........thing is i'm running both mh and hps both 400w and my urkles are under the hps side, should i move them under the mh instead??.....i have kept them under the hps because i can get that bulb a couple inches closer to the tops of the urkles....ummm something i did not even think about untill i just read these reply....well guys what should i do??..

pothead in your set up i think you could totaly outgrow that bitchin cab you work in :yoinks: :yoinks: :yoinks: :yoinks: .........
sweeeet :chin: :chin:

Nah nah the opposite of that. Well unless your after the tightest internode growth you have ever seen. :D

What gronut was sayin (I believe) was that it may actually be to your advantage to run a lower wattage veg light with urkle to force some stretch.

Only thing I would worry about is that with too low of a wattage the urkle would start growing funk style, she is so picky about everything.

hello hughie :joint:
ahh excellent soo i'm good to go i guess....well come on 35 days hahaha, this in the past is coming up on my usual vegg time...i usualy go about 26/28 days man i'm gonna shatter that number this time around, but i have tasted the urkle from my clones mother plants so I KNOW for a fact that its all going to be worth it in the end :yummy: :yummy: :yummy: ........
ohhhhhhh yaaaaaaaaa it isssssss :joint:

I think what I would try is keepin her under the hps side (mh will give her tighter nodes) and keep her at the edge, not directly under the bulb. I think more light=tighter bush, less light may let her get taller with less bush and let the nodes space out more which is what ya want.

Sorry if this is gettin confusing... and this has not been proven at my place 100% yet, just my hypothesis :bigeye: at this point :joint:

Hughie said it right... I don't think you really need to change the light tho.. just keep the urks at the edge or raise the light some.

wow, almost as fast as chat here :yoinks:

hello gro :joint:
no bro not confuseing i see several good growers trying to improve on a strain they all think is worth the effort, and i for one am very glad there are so many cool knowledgeabl growers growing the urkle at the same time, and i'm learning a lot shit about this strain every day it seems so i'm stoked to be a part of this thing were "calling" the urkles experence(sp).....
i'm here till the end :joint:

Im glad to be a part of the urkle experience. :D

Im with you jaws Ive been seeing the urkle getting around and I love it man! :D I don't think its made its way to the east coast very much yet tho. The entire world should have the chance to smoke some urkle. :canabis:

Look into some of the T-5 bulbs/lighting system. They work well.

I've got Purple Erkle myself, and it's a 7 to 7 1/2 week finisher. Make sure your ventilation system is up and running proper becuase PE can and will mold up on you during the 6th to 7th week.

Also, since PE has big fat leaves, I usually trim them off gradually when they're about a month from finishing up. Removing the leaves gradually will allow light to reach down towards the lower part of the plant. The purple coloring in PE is genetic and not caused by a cooler temperature. What I have observed is that if PE doesn't get enough light it won't turn purple. It'll have all the characteristics of PE, just minus the purple coloring.

I've also had TW as well, and it's definitely a producer as well as a high quality herb. Good luck with the final stages of your crop.

Really excellent thread, great info everyone and great plants Jaws. I know very little about the PU but for what it's worth I vote hps also. Those leaves look like they got a wax treatment...nice.
