Purple stems

I'm thinking I've maybe got a nutrient deficiency with my plant. She's got purple stems and I know that some causes are simply the genetics. I've got a new ppm meter coming in and it's been so long since I've done this... can someone please advise me on how to figure my nutrient levels necessary for my plant with the aid of my ppm meter. My late husband always went just by looks and he told me that if the leaves are a bit pale, she's hungry. Please help. Thank you.

If you provide a little bit more info like what she's being grown in and how she's being fed and how often we could better help. Every little detail help to create a better picture. A picture helps a lot to troubleshoot!

Cheers!

Absolutely! They're pure hydro. Using Technaflora nutritents.i just moved her to hydro from coco maybe 4 days ago. PH is running around 5.5. She's on her initial nutrients from the transplant. I've gave her a little extra calmag yesterday to maybe help thinking it was low on magnesium.

Water around the edges of the netpots a couple of times every day from the reservoir until the roots have found their way down to the reservoir.

There's nothing wrong with the feed but you could raise pH to make Calcium and Magnesium more accessible to the plant for uptake. I typically aim for pH 6.3 in hydro. It's probably nothing wrong with either the food or strength but feeding frequency should be increased.

I would lower light intensity until the plants have recovered. Less light also encourage root growth starting out.

Cheers!

Thank you so so much! I've taken her out of direct light. Her PH is reading 6.5 now. I'm thinking maybe increase her feedings to twice a week maybe. It's a 3 gallon bucket that she's in. Can you offer advice on figuring my nutrients with my ppm meter? It's been about 13 years and I'm having to remember how to do everything again. I certainly appreciate your help.

I'll chip in my 2 cents.
For me the red stem scenario started with using LED lights and since then I learned to ignore it and I haven't got issues.
You might want to raise your calmag a bit as you just copped the beginning of some rust spots on the leaf. It raises the nitrogen too..and they look like they want a tiny bit more.

I know some germans which fight it with bloom ferts with the strength of ec 3.0 and more..but when they stop it comes back and you can't keep going that hard all the time or your plants suffer.

If it's just the stem,I'd do nothing.
Maybe look at stems which are cover by some bud or leaf and see if it looks the same at those spots. I bet it won't...I've seen ot many times. Mine are having red stems right now 🤷‍♂️
