I have a cut of Bubba and a friend that I had not seen in a long while seen my plant and said it looked more like Purple Kush. Now from what I understand is Bubba has NO skunk smell and is musky, earthy and floral and this is exactly mine. Also not much stretch. Purple Kush is more likely to have skunk smell incorporated with others and has a little more stretch than Bubba. Am I correct in coming to these conclusions? I have been researching them for quite a while now.

One other thing that might be a way to tell is this, my Bubba has some weird leaf mutations that come up occasionally. Does the PK also have this trait or is this just original to my bazaar cut?

Thanks in advance and if anyone wants to see the mutations I talk of, which I will say again is very rare in my cut, I can post some pic's as I have taken some when recording info for my specific cuts.

they both have little stretch. bubba a tad more . I grow the PK from Oakland/trichome tech/Bluesky/Oaksterdam . bubba has wider blades on leaves . they have different smells . PK has side branching that runs vertical along the main stem . PK has a stronger smell . have never had a leave mutation with either .

the lvpk is very bubba-esq, from what I've seen bay area purples tend to be more along the lines of like urkle, gdp, and don't necessarily have the standard kush traits like the real pokey crowned out calyx's, the deep chocolate/coffee undertones, the thick dark leathery leaves. The lvpk stretch is closer to an og than to bubba(pre98) that doesnt really stretch much at all....biggest similarity between lvpk and bubba is the actual smoke...I bet a ton of people that grow one strain or the other would be fooled in a blind taste test

I got fam in the bay that runs "purple kush" it's dank, very frosty, super purple, nug structure isn't all that kush-like, taste is more of that straight up purp taste, smell is sweet and mildly musky. A very different Pk than lvpk no doubt.

Sorry, I stated earlier my Bubba comes up with weird leaf mutations sometimes, but actually I was referring to my Purple Kush BC Cut. Just thought I would clear that up.

Below is pic's of my Purple Kush pheno, was told it was a BC cut. Anyone agree or disagree? Thanks!

Not sure exactly what cut of Purple Kush I have but she reaks of grape to me. Very intoxicating smell. Would be cool to get some input on wether its the Vegas cut or not. She has some deep dark purple buds and then random green buds as well. The green buds have the stronger smell which is also strange to me.

looks great^^^
imho lvpk has no grape about her, I don't personally think that that's her. the cut the fam has in the bay area could be considered grapey, dont know if it's the sr71 pk or what but it get's way more purple than lvpk does(at least in terms of full color lvpk gets flashes of purp the majority of the time, I've only had her black out on me once or twice and that was with the addition of teas in flower)

GrownOut - Your cut looks dead on for the SR-71 Pk coming from the bay to me. I have grown her a bunch and she rocks. Kicks out hard candy nugs of grapey rope. Slow veg and low yield unless you can dial her in. I personally am thinking tables with high numbers and single colas as the most effecient way to go with her.

Fuck yes!!! Thanks for the confirmation homie!! Yeah this was actually my first run with her since getting her and cloning the shit out of her. She should be weighing in at around 2zips one plant which is not too bad. Hopefully I can get her up a bit more. She is definitely stayin in the garden.

Thanks for chiming in!! You made my day.

Hey there guys and gals.i got this cut from a dispencery 2 years ago it was labled PK not for resale me and my buddy haggled with the workers there to sale us this clone even thou it was reserved for some one they ended up selling it to us for 9 bucks and we left the other one for who ever it was reserved for.We ended up cloneing it before we flowered it out and it grew some huge buds for our first growand using a 150w light.I am still cloning this plant and i am now seeding her kids into her again for a second time trying to get this stable.it taste kinda like a grapey pinish coffee lingering bold robust flavor.but it has never turned purple for me and i was wondering if anyone who knows thinks this is actually purple kush or is this just some random shit that taste great and has huge buds?let me know what you all think.?

i have the UK PK cut which i was told was the garbeville cut.

definitely has some similarities to the pre98 bubba but the smell of PK has a cheesy-ness and a berry/floral twang that the bubba doesnt have. bubba is more focussed in the kushy/earthy/incense

just harvested first little plant and loving the smoke.
this one got fairly cold at times so the purple came out pretty strong
