Purple Kush Unit

just finished the first half....im am impressed....not a single bit of waste!! i had nugs in the coco worth saving..lol......

i was able to get 16 cuts..i wanted to run eight...so what i did was throw 8 small ones in first.....i flipped them at 15 inches....then i waited for the other eight to veg to about 26-30 inches....those wont be finished for a few more weeks...

im going to run another 8 trees by themselves under 2 k...theyre vegging now...but i gotta tell u ...considering what i just pulled from the 8 small ones...i think im going with 16 under each1k...thats been my style for a year or so ....im not too familiar with growing tress..we'll see after the next run....

it looks like lm going to pull 1#+1zip off of just 8...vegged 3weeks...with no co2... VERY VERY VERY impressive plant!...i should know the exact numers tonight or maybe tomorrow...im letting them cure a little..

Once again....THANK YOU.. i owe u bro

I just stuck them into bloom last night. Will get some shots of them this evening. They bounced back quick though. And stems are a lot thicker now.

hey DG -- I got this 1 LVPK lady...was given to me as PK, turns out to really resemble the LVPK...I wanna run alot more of these ladies next round but Im concerned about the yield. any good advise on how to make these ladies yield? would it be worth it to do a solid LVPK run, or would I be selling myself short at harvest time? what did u yield per plant? Ill also be doing soil, not hydro. any good tips??

thanks bro. heres some pics of her on day 40ish

hey dg those plants look like some monsters really great job...i had a qustion for you about your system tho...i want to run a room like yours i have coming up it will be a 8 by 16 foot darkroom with (8) 600 watts in it with 12 plants in those 10 gal tube..My qustion is do you think a 100 gal rez would be big enough to flood the 12 plants or do you think i need more? also what size pumps would you recomend for that set up? thanks again and i look forward to seeing how the astriode comes out..

100gal will be fine u dont flood the plants at all the system is recirulating 24/7 there is always gals in each bucket with an airstone and pump pumpin the nutes to ur feed lines and return liv=nes drawing the water back to the res .... i would go with a mag drive pump over 770 gph no sure what dg uses but u really cant overkill and the bigger pump ya get u can always add on or use a ball valve to controle flow rate...

If you've got the LVPK there is no issue with yield, she does better than most.

DG has killed the yield with LVPK against his well know SSH. More bud less time.

There are at least a dozen LVPK grow threads on ICmag. All of them have great posts.

DominicanGreen
George Smiley
Poopy Teabag
Stuzzy 22
BigGreen
Green Thumb
Whadeezlrg

These are just some of the guys with grow journals that feature LVPK. Many other growers post in these threads. Done right the LVPK beats ANYTHING in the Pepsi challenge.

My biggest tip for yield is don't prune lower branches, only middle and lower sapper branches. Also the bigger the better, starting with roots, and then stalk girth as most important. She loves light in Veg, but in flower she prefers less light and lower nutes.

sorry guys i been a real dick lately not ansering questions i more like fuck not that question again but its in here somewhere just look i been to bizzy with the asteroids that by the time i make it on here i'm tired so nothing personal.theres alot of things needed for my hydro system like a 2hp pump 1''pvp pipe 3 -1'' pvc elbos garden hose for the pump need a small hole on hose up top so it can stop sifen on the water going out the pump for when pump cuts off then on that same hose you need a hose 4 way connecter for your lines going out for dripers.you need 2hp pump for 20 buckets or you wont have the presure
anything over 20 bucket with 4 drippers each will not work on a 2 hp pump.the rez is 96 gallons and buckets are filled with mini cube rockwool and then cover with hydroton for alge
the ebb-n-grow controller sits in the room and controlles drain water and feed water cycles
the 2hp feed pump connects to the ebb n grow controller inside you'll put a small pump for drain water back to your rez.and if you puting to much water to the buckets you can do like me and bring the stop feed trigger on controller down more so it fills the right amount of water, this is done by openning the controller and sniping the trigger wire inside and drilling another hole on controller to the right level.well thats it people set the feeding cycles and it works on its own.

https://www.icmag.com/ic/picture.php?albumid=22124&pictureid=474659

i had did this and it was sifening water so i had add a hose to go from pump over the rez and onto the fourway connecters and put a hole on hose over the rez squirting into water so that when the pump stops it stops water flow
https://www.icmag.com/ic/picture.php?albumid=12992&pictureid=303724

controller sits in room and bucket drain lines connect at the bottom
picture.php

i will post later a pick of 3 rez i use one for feeding the rest are backup water and i'll get a clear shot of rez and pump with hose going over the top

so does the water go trough the controller before you gets to the buckets or dose it go stright from rez to the drippers??sorry bout all the qustions dg just whenever u get a chance i just still have qustions bout how the whole thing works and would like to pick your brain a little...i know your really busy right now so its really whenever u get a chance no rush at all...thanks again for showing us your grows i have to say there some of the best on here and i can really see my self running the exact same system once i fully get how everything works thanks again...

Well I am not able to easily quote and show photos from your post, but I wanted to talk about the 4th photo.

https://www.icmag.com/ic/attachment.php?attachmentid=109621&d=1301441441

This bud is showing a very typical reaction to TOO much and TOO intense light. The LVPK love indirect light and less intense light. I bet you will notice that there are larger happier nugs on this plant, the top is going into crazy single foxtail and the rest of the nugs are getting fat and happy.

I'm not really sure what to do when the problem appears, except maybe chop the nug and let the rest of the plant develop.

Also if you can supercrop the branches away from the center of the hood / light you'll have more success avoiding the stress.

Many of us grow her and once the buds stress like that they never bounce back to fat and round. Also I find the trich coverage on the stressed buds is way less than the other buds.

I know you have great smoke coming and next round will be even better.

SO TRUE. On my first grow with LVPK. Wishing I ran veg for a little longer letting the sides grow out more and becoming bushier. I'm on my second week in bloom now and you can see them trying to battle for light to make it to the top.

Tip for next time. A lot of good info here. Finally read from page one to current page. Hoping to produce some decent numbers for my first run.

hydrosun - I know just what u mean bro. see, riight before I read on here that the LVPK likes indirect light, I had her right under the light. Im in a 4x8 tent w 2000w aircooled. since I read about this Iv had her in the corners, kind of away from the lights. next round Ill probably have 4 of these girls and Ill probably train them real low and put them in the 4 corners of the tent.

do you think I should just chop the little foxtail part off that one bud? ur right man, that nug is taller than the rest by like 1 or 2 inches, and thats all it took I suppose...the second tallest bud looks best. its only 1 of like 4 colas, so Im not too worried, Ill prolly leave it as is. It is funny, just like u described...the tallest bud is kinda weak lookin, and the rest are fat and happy.
