hi Hempy -

I did find what I'm very confident were pure landraces in Northwest Cambodia (Banteay Meanchey) going off the typical routes taken by tourists, in about 2010-ish.

It was reasonably strong, but not anywhere near sensi or even semi-sensi, and only just about ripe enough to get away with cutting. The aromas were pretty generic musky peppery Southeast Asian ganja.

But in the bars and "Happy Pizza" places in tourist Cambodia I only ever saw mongrelized landraces.

Now and then I saw straight hybrids (seemed like Skunk, as in the actual strain) in Phnom Penh.

I've found from looking at photos on Instragram etc. that it seems a lot of people "strain hunting" in Cambodia these days really can't tell that the stuff they're seeing in bars is all hybrid x landrace crosses.

It would be good to salvage some pure landraces from Cambodia, but I don't know people there are who are nice and who I can trust and who trust me.

I've known Laos for years, and I know really good people there. In general, Lao people are very sound. I'm sure there are nice people in Cambodia too, same as anywhere. But it's a badly damaged culture, fully traumatized, and I really don't like the expat scene there at all (heavy on smack, sex tourism, paedos etc.).

In other words, Cambodia is low on my list after other places that I want to get more accessions from, i.e. Thailand and Indonesia.

I think i would be avoiding it also mate i just knew from people you could buy it in the local Markets and the laws were more lax than over the border.

Like you said you need contacts that are honest and 100% and the bad expats would make most good contacts suspicious of any non Cambodians.

I got the seeds in February 2011. I don't think I can disclose the shop I bought them from. They definitely don't have anymore and haven't for a long time. When I bought them they were already just about gone from the market.

There is a lot of variation in the line. I get some nice electric/racy/ buzzing highs. Then another one grown right next to it will mess you up something fierce; cerebral and sensual overload, confusion and laughter.

not sure the one i posted is in thailand , id have to ask the original poster it grew over an 8 month cycle according to the original post , which sounds like its probably not in thailand ,

also its 7 kilos which is quite a bit more than 10 pounds hempy , but thanks for chiming in with your wisdom anyhow ... 555 ...

feel free to add the video you mentioned though , those things are worth a look for sure ..

in the old days of growing in thailand they were not aiming for big plants , just many , they started them toward the end of the monsoon season because that can be brutal on cannabis and larger plants are more difficult to care for than smaller ones ,
id doubt they grew them for much longer than 5 months and they would begin flowering quite early given the already declining day lengths ....

the old pictures in the thai stick book are testament to what i m saying ...
