BC Highland Thai is for sure the same as RSC Highland Thai/Burmese. The first source of the strain is the same, seeds were collected by Sativafiend, an expatriate grower living in Thailand that used to stock RSC and colaborate with Breeder's Choice, Bodhi, Chomba, Snowcap and othersl, they all used to gather at the Breed Bay, where the original threads by Sativafiend with the info and pictures from the strains still can be found. It was a nice highland strain from Chiang Mai area, I've read great reports and a friend had them and crossed them to Flo male. I'm also pretty sure that the BC Hmong Tribe is the same strain as the old RSC Highland Lao and same source as well. Probably all came from those initial seed batches. Some quotes from Sativafiend:
HHF to him, Nov 2007:
Aparently he was also doing some crosses for Breeder's Choice too:
This got me surprised because his avatar is in fact one of the HT pictures from above and from his HT albums. I really hope it was just a mistake with he pics and the seeds distributed were pure indeed.
Anyway, later he moved from Myanmar/Thailand border to Northern Lao:
Anyway, both HT and Lao were distributed by RSC a long ago. Nowadays, the last Mekong and Mango Thai and Red Thai were all sourced in the Isaan area, around the Khorat Plateau, North East Thailand. So in my opinion, more like lowland style thai strains. Pretty different genetics to the Burmese/Highland Thais from the mountains at the North West.
RSC no longer offered any other Highland Thais, but lowlands from Isaan and some other interesting strains from Lao (Highland Lao, Golden Triangle Akka and Viet-Lao) and the Mekong. Problem is that as RSC works with local farmers or contributors, so once their stocks end (it quickly does), strains are gone forever unless growers make any reproductions.
This year for the first time, RSC is going to sell some Lebanese seeds reproduced out of their origin. A spanish grower contributed reproducing a few hundred Lebanese seeds to be re-stocked at the moment.

Highland Thai/Burmese Hilltribe
Lineage:
Highland Thai X Highland Thai
Parental Information:
A landrace pure sativa, Grown by the Lahu hilltribe in northern Thailand and Burmese border areaThis tribe are from Tibet originally, they migrated through China and Burma over a three hundred years ago.Seeds are always collected from same source,a pure breeding strain grown for over 100 years in the mountain village they are collected from on Thai side of the border, one farmer crosses male to famale using many different plants and distributes the seeds to others.Grows at 2000 metres, and producing two crops a year. This is the same landrace type as used bye DJ short for his blueberry and flo crosses.I have never seen any herm traits in this line, even plants that are stressed and re-vegged for three seasons has not shown any herm traits.A great breeding tool, rooted cuttings can be flowered strait away a will produce a managable sized pure sativa at just under a meter tall, flowering photoperiod is best at 11 hours 30 mins for quicker bud set. These seeds are from 19.5 latitude.

Some quotes from Sativafiend:
im living in north west thailand, about 100k from burmese border,i have large amount of landrace seeds.these include seeds from loas, thailand and burma.i have done some crooses with skunk#1 to create some nice sativa f1 hybrids.im now looking for excotic sativas to work with. The daylenth here never exceeds 13 and half hours dropping to 12 around december.the genetics here varie so much, they go from 15 foot tall large leafed dark green monsters ,to small delicate light green plants with many branches and a very sweet citrus taste.the loa genes are like old school thai strains(not been crossed)i think many thai plants have been crossed to increase yield. i have some burmese seed that grows very tall, with large leaves, this plant takes on purple pink hues when flowering, its very fast growing and cultivated by the burmese/thai border hilltribes for many years.
HHF to him, Nov 2007:
Your Thai looks like it holds a lot of the older genepool from the region, so you got my attention and i will be dropping you a PM. Peace and thanks for showing them.
Bests, hhf
Aparently he was also doing some crosses for Breeder's Choice too:

the pic in avater is a loas sative x skunk#1. i have grown pure skunk here for three generations, its now totally purple when mature, this i think has developed due to cold night and high alltitude.will post a pic later

Hi fellow growers,i have been off the boards for a while due to travel and relocation.I have settled with my family in Northern Lao near the Thai border,iv got stunning views and lots of nice pure sativa buds to smoke again.I will be sending some new stuff to the bay in the near future, and happy to see the Highland Myanmar(Thai) has been used in many crosses by fellow members.Anyway now im settled i will be working on some crosses to make them better suited to the indoor growroom. Thanks for the NL#5 bodhi,i will be poppin them soon, hope they give me some nice hybrids.Sativafiend
