i think i smell a POTM nomination, yet again, DrKatz. Wonderful stuff as always. I cannot wait to try some of this herb. Very nice colors, and great trich production.
Thank you all for the kind responses. I cut a couple of the tops off because I'm taking a little road trip soon, and samples are needed, so I'll have an idea of what the smoke is gonna be like in a few days. In my experiences so far with Diesel and Kush families, the taste is quite strong just a few days off the plant, even though it's still a little planty and rough. I think I'm gonna let the rest of the plant go another week at least, because the lower parts are a little less ripe than the tops (I know this is often the case, but it's a little more of a difference in maturity than I've come across in other plants). As far as my organics, I usually make tea with a base mix of:
(per gallon)
1 teaspoon blackstrap molasses
1-2 teaspoons of P.S.G. pellets (or jamaican bat guano in flowering)
1/2-1 teaspoon liquid karma
Once in a while, I add 1/2 teaspoon of earth juice micro, and 1/2 teaspoon of epsom salts if they seem like they need magnesium.
I mix up the ingredients and shake well for a few minutes, then let it sit for a few hours and shake again. Many people advise letting organic teas brew for 24 hours, but I haven't found this to be totally necessary, and since I always have plants at different stages of growth, it's sometimes hard to plan ahead. I also don't recommend leaving the tea around for several days between uses, so I just try to make what I'll need pretty much right away. My setup is fairly small however, and if i were gonna go big, I would figure out how to set up an air pump and air stone in a big rubber trashcan or something similar, so you could make big batches that are constantly bubbling and brewing. Either that, or just go with PBP or earth juice, but I've also heard that these types of ferts can benefit from being bubbled/brewed before use. I'm still a long way from a perfect organic setup, and there are lots of folks here who know more about organics than I do. Peace.
All right, since most of the bigger nugs got chopped a little early and then smoked, I took a few pics of a couple of the smaller nugs to show what the finished product looks like. Smoke report coming soon!
I assume the female parent is the ECSD and the male pollen donor is......a reversed OG Kush? I guess this information is more useful for possible breeding projects with this plant, not so much for growers who are keeping this hybrid for a mother plant....
The future for this cross is so bright I gotta wear shades!!!! Seriously.....
