running ain't working out, running for you is just a form of commuting at his point.^^

mad respect on 13 miles, that's 20km!
but if you can do that every day, it's certainly not hard anymore.

I'm talking about stuff that gets your heartrate over 150 for a duration, due to blood pressure you can't keep that up after just smoking a bowl. I saw guys faint and drop face first after 300+ burpees.

Ya - 20kms - 13 miles is a half marathon - so that is impressive - and alot of pounding already age worn joints - not for me - I'd rather try and walk it - at a good clip - in 'Quick March' mode - 'cos I find walking a much more fluid form of self-propelled motion - and much less risk of any injury - since it's a low impact exercise - and gets your heart rate up enough - to be useful as a cardio exercise -

yes, the impact from running is an issue.
if running is all you do in your life, then it shouldn't matter
but fighting and smashing my shin bones into other men, I had problems with stress fractures.

that's why all the running I do now, is in the woods and uphill.
like +10% incline, sprinting, until I'm about to throw up
not doing any distances, as a round is just 5 minutes, and needs a different kind of cardio

the best advice I can give to fat guys, is the three S
Swimming, Sauna and Salads
talking with 30lbs+ overweight, your body can not handle "gravity" workouts without damage, so if you wanna be serious about burning off that fat, try become a dolphin.
get in the pool & lanes, lanes, lanes!
if you have a sea, aim for international waters!

Very interesting articles about the ECS, FAAH inhibitors and PTSD treatment hedge. Thanks for the info :tiphat:

It expains why i've had some temporary relief from turmeric and black pepper combos in the past. I will start eating it again along with trying to keep up the daily bike rides.

No running for me unfortunately...

After tearing my hamstring playing football with 10 year olds, skateboarding with them at 50 causing minor hip problems it is low intensity exercise all the way now.

It's in Golden Gate Park.

So it's a group of up to 75 people that get together and do Tai Chi.

Lots of experienced practitioners, no formal instructors.
Sounds really good. I no longer train with others, but really need to get back with my old teacher and attend lessons again. Tai Chi needs constant refining; you never stop learning. You also get so much in a group and can't do push hands or other partner work by yourself.

A 6'+ 200lb fella running 13mi 6 days a week averaging 5.5 min miles with elevation changes of 500 feet is elite.

I had a friend tail me on his bicycle and he could not keep up going up hill.

Mile 9-11 were on the flats and typically always sub 5 minute miles.

I did this in the original barefoot Vibram shoes.

Because of experience Impact was about as smooth as swimming.

Heart rate not rising above 150?

Not hard?

Lol.

Your welcome Bob, So sorry to hear about your health, hey you would do good on my easy-to-ride step-through girls bike. I use it to go around the block every day and it's so much fun to ride and so easy. You can get a nice bike for around a $150.00 at Walmart and take it slow. You would shock the world if you got yourself a bike. I know that taking long walks would be a hazard for your feet from Diabetes. Maybe you could take little walks with mindfulness of your feet very slowly to prevent abscesses. I have never met a depressed person that exercised regularly. Winners never Quit Friend!😎
It’s great exercise that doesn’t feel like it. Get a mountain bike… road bikes are great for tour de france, not the street. The speed is always tempting. I’m on break. i got teed and have to wait till the vertigo stops. So I got certified as a Cannabis consultant. It’s great for neurological (tbi) concussion recovery.

Mountain bikes are for people that have all their body parts. Some people are missing limbs and body parts and can't ride high in the Mountains. I wished I could but it's too risky and not worth the chance of having an injury. Breaking a hip or arm really would make things extra hard for me. Play it safe, you are responsible for your own safety and no one else is. If you hurt your self you did it to yourself, so be careful. Safety First. 😎

Boys I'm down 30 lbs since June. I was really inspired by this post when I first read it, and now I read about muscle development and excercises the same way I was reading about weed topics like transpiration nutrient deficiencies etc. Walking burpees strength training. I still have a lot more to go.

I need a good workout strain. Can someone recommend any? I need something electric, speedy and very up. Only sativa I have going right now is a Neville's haze fem from greenhouse seeds.

What are yall smoking to get good and motivated to put in work???
Losing 30 lbs is about the most kick-ass thing that could happen to a person. So glad to hear it friend. You are doing great thank you for telling us.
I've been vaping some weed from Mandala seeds (last-jar). Mostly Sativa with an uplifting high. I'm ready for some kick you in the ass weed now. Most of the time It doesn't matter because I don't know what I got until I'm on a ride. By then I'm in the middle of the workout and can't turn back. I surprise myself with a new strain as often as I can.
AnyWeed is WorkoutWeed. 😎

No matter how you get your exercise - the main thing is - Consistency - making sure that you train regularly - year in and year out = exercise longevity - and trying to avoid injury - by decreasing any high-risk factors/exercises - and pushing just enough on the low-risk/low impact exercises to enjoy the benefits - by not getting hurt - but still able to increase or just maintain a good level of strength and fitness - at a reasonable weight -
- the longer you can train without getting injured - the better - because once injured - you might not be able to train much - or at all -
* here is an interesting video from Dr Sten Ekberg

Well said. The worst thing you can do is overdo it and get injured in the process, especially for those of us who are a bit older. Had a bit of a laugh at the earlier suggestion of 500 burpees!
Fasting is very interesting. There are a heap of different options including fast mimicking where you restrict calories to mimic a fast. This article might interest those wanting to fine tune their fasting.

What I did with intermittent fasting - was to only let myself eat anything - once I had completed a 2 hour workout - so no breakfasts in the mornings - just coffee and exercise - and after the gym/swim - by the time I'd done some shopping and got home and was cooking - the kids would show up to eat around 3.30pm - after school - and usually I would have my first meal of the day with them - then another meal before 8pm - and nothing to eat till the following afternoon again - so I was eating well daily - but just in a fixed 6 hour window - between 2pm-8pm usually - 6 hours to eat every day - and 18 hours of every day NOT EATING - that's the hardest part - when you are used to stuffing your face morning-noon and night - then you get to know that losing weight is quite easy to do -

- Even though I have reached my weight target area (around 200lbs) - this needs to be maintained - I do eat a little more now - but still cant go and workout if I have eaten a meal just before exercise - so still intermittently fast on the days I go to the gym/swim -

- As for burpee's - I do them in the pool - usually in sets of 50 - just hold onto the pool wall - throw your legs back behind you - till your body is horizontal - then fast-pull your legs underneath you - until your feet touch the pool wall - rinse and repeat - its MUCH gentler on the body - than doing burpee's in gravity - and you can easily control the intensity - by just going faster - so more resistance in the water -

Yesterday my primary exercise was ripping wild peas out of the ground for an hour or so.

Plus I got SUN.

Look up Roger Seheult. His lectures on Vitamin D & Covid 19 were good, also his lectures on "light therapy", he talks bout mitochondria (where Lucas got his Meta-Delorean concept in the movie Phantom Menace), etc.

i.e. being in sunlight - or even shade & clouds - isn't just good for you because it helps your body manufacture Vitamin D. There's other stuff going on that you don't need to know the exact details of, to get the benefit.

Time management wise, I will have to burn the area where the wild peas were. What's left is long grass. If I had more time I would cut the long grass too, but ...
