My problem with peppers is not eating them... It's when they are on the way out that I'm in the most pain.

nope never touch your eyes after you been touching chilli. If you get most chillies.. I say most because I am assuming ... not having eaten all the chillies there are, but if you get them, slice them in half then scrape the white material (pith) and the seeds out, you will find the "skin" of the chilli is much more "eatable". Not so hot but some will be still a bit warm. The heat comes from the seeds and the pith.

I like to slice up my chilli's this way into really thin strips and sprinkle them on to my noodles. I have this awesome beef with basil and noodle dish I like eat in the summer. Its like a noodle salad thing.. .tasty. The chilli leaves just a warm glow on your lips and thats all... nice... enjoy it with a nice lager or a large iced drink.

sorry but thats a misconception, chili peppers get there heat from capsaicin a chemical that is secreted from two glands in the top of the chile, the capsaicin simply runs down the inside of the pepper covering the inner wall and the seeds, the seeds do not produce capsaicin and thus are not the source of the heat.

Well that I did not know... so that must mean my scrapping is perhaps just cleaning away the capsaicin then... as I said still warm but not mouth torching heat..

interesting thanks BB.
