Pro's and Con's Grow tent vs lumber built room?

My first 'tent' was wood frame DIY project. I hung a bunch of windshield reflectors on it. Next grow, I covered the windows instead. This gives me more and easier access to the plants

Last year I bought a small 2 x 4 x 5 tent

IMO, plants seem to breath better when there is more air space

I have a light proof 4x8 flowering chamber that I built. It shits all over my grow tent, which is now my veg tent. It was more expensive than people make it out to be, but I wanted it to function like I need it to. The f'ing light tight intake vent was $100...total rip off.

A built room or a tent depends on so many factors. The portability and "plug and play" setup with tents is very convenient. A built room does have the advantage with environmental control. You can run a tent almost anywhere as long as you have a dehumidifier or air conditioner available. As for setup and take down if it takes you over an hour you're just going slow. Ive used tents for years and have never ran into mold problems. If you maintain cleanliness you will have success whether the frame is made of wood or metal poles.

Mold, mildew and sitting water issues in tents comes from sloppy gardeners and should not be blamed on the tents.
If you own a home then build a room. Otherwise a tent is the only way to go (4k and under).
I spent thousands framing up my dream room in a warehouse only to have to ditch it all Cruz feds raided a sweatshop two units down for pirate guess jeans. Next spot is gonna be all tents. That way if there is any problem I am packed up in an hour and gone while not leaving a huge investment behind. With htg supply offering the sickwst 10 x 10 tent for $500 I can't go wrong.

Tents are great for portability, small grows, rentals, etc.

I've taken down my 400w 3'x3' tent in under 10mins, whole thing, lights, fans, tent, plants. You can't do that with a permanent room.

All depends on your situation. If I owned a house again i'd definitely just build a room. Even then, there's still the benefit of being able to tear down quickly with tents.

You've pretty much listed the main disadvantages of tents. Good luck.

I've had tents and custom built rooms. Custom built rooms all the way. If you want another good option thats the best of both worlds build a room using foam insulation board. it comes in 4x8 sheets. its cheap, and really easy to work with.

Im having a custom built lumber room being put together at the moment....

for a 800 square foot ....20x20 16k flower room... and 2 20x10 rooms ... with electrical and AC's cost 30K... Tents are much cheaper and are nowhere near the same level of quality..

Tents for commercial use are just not the best idea .. for Home Growers... Tents are useful and play a more practical role...

I like the idea of having a light proof "door". I really don't know a way of having a 5 x 5 space that can be opened like french doors. Gorilla tents seem worth the money, but I don't have one to trully judge.

I have a spare room in my apartment and am trying to decide on a tent or to build a custom space. I have lots of ventilation so thats not an issue.
The room is 9x12 and I could possibly put in 2 spaces. tents VS stick frame... any suggestions?
Im new at this. Power is not an issue.
