If say for example one of your babies was showing a Magnesium defficiency and you know you had to supplement with epsom salts..

What is the propper way to apply the epsom salts?

for this example, say that your baby is in a 2 gal pot of organic medium {sphanum peat moss = 50%, perlite = 45%, (bone meal, blood meal, worm castings, dolomite lime) = 5% or so} Say its aslo getting 400 watts of HPS.

well you would need to take 1/4tsp per 1 gal or water i believe. then you have to boil the epsom salt down first... take a pot of boiling water and put 1/4 tsp of epsom salt in if you use a 5 gallon container to water the use 1 1/4 tsp of epsom salt. boil stir boil mix in with you water and bam water away. just dont over due the epsom salt or you can cause nute lock so dont over due it.

but this is the way i do it so if im wrong we both need someone else to tell us.

Swerve

hope this helps

I've always just added the epsom salts direct to the water and watered. Has worked for me...

Water with 1/2 teaspoon per gallon of water (PH Balanced) or mix 1/2 teaspoon in with a gallon of your normal feeding regime.

Ive always used 1/2 to fix an existing problem and 1/4 as a preventative with ever watering. No issues with Mg for three years now.

Okay I have forgotten the exact figure's, but 1/4tsp of epsome salt's is all that is needed for most all nutrient's that lack it.

On average most try to get near 60ppm's of Mg to the mix, but many lack it, and then when we increase the plant count from one to more, well Mg level in the mix is not enough.

I would, never have, but if you have a deficicency problem, than 1/2tsp at first, and then go to 1/4tsp every gallon of solution in the res and you will have a nice mix.

I do believe it worked out that 1/4tsp gave about 30ppm's per gallon of Mg, add this to a mix that has some Mg and you are at a nice target for cannabis to grow.

Now to much of any one element can cause lock up of other nutrient's, they all have a balance.

Now as far as mixing, well I just micrwave the a cup of the water so it is warm, pour in the salt, stir until disovled, and feed to plant's. That is all I have ever done for 5 year's now and have no trouble's at all.

grow safe.

Good advice on the MG.
I should have mentioned that the 1/2 tsp per gallon IS for fixing a deficiency and after that 1/4 tsp should be fine.
Some nutes (like the Advanced nutes I use) cause NO deficiencies and adding MG would be redundant.

Retail quality potting soils (especially the pre-ferted ones) usually force cannabis growers to supplement with something for magneseum, including the Pro-Mix I just switched too. Strain plays a role in it's uptake as well. Or so it seems.

I used to use 1 teaspoon/5 gallons in every flowering application. Certainly didn't harm anything. The buds were huge and tasty :)

Have u checked ur ph? I'd check the ph in ur drain pan, to see if its rising or lowering .u could have nute lockout and not a mag. deff.
