I picked up a pair of these. They are really good, the difference in seeing is worth the price.

Since eyes are so valuable, I feel the need to state that they need to be protected not only from UV, but also from IR, and from the high intensity, brightness, of HID's. A coupla people seem to think that it's only about UV. Good luck. -granger

thanks for that granger,
i asked this before...
"are 2 types of glasses needed, one for hps and 1 for MH??
or will one pair of glasses work for both types of HID?""

from your post granger it seem like more is needed than just UV, do you know if galasses are available to take care of uv, ir etc etc.

btw,
my son got new glasses and they had a uv option along with the other things like glare resistant, scratch resistant.

so you can easily get your lenses uv protected at any eye store

I bought both the $18 pair and the $100 pair. for in the grow room, I can wear my reding glasses under the cheap ones but not the $100 pair, both accomplish the exact same thing. probably the $100 pair is better for continious every day wear outside. the are red blockers, everything seems whiter shades of colors. Kinda makes me feel like a cold winter day.. except it's 80F.. thanks for the thread and all the information. I was useing those welding goggles from harbor freight. they suck in comparison.
